Abstract

Abstract Cancer is an abnormal growth of cells which tend to invade surrounding tissue and spread to organs of the body. One treatment in cancer patients is to use chemotherapy. The side effects of chemotherapy are diverse, including nausea vomiting, anorexia which led to weight loss. The purpose of this research was to know body mass index in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. The methods used in this research was descriptive. This research was conducted at the RSUD Arifin Achmad Pekanbaru involving 51 respondents with sampling method was purposive sampling. Univariate analysis was used. The research results obtained here the respondents on IMT status normal was 25 respondents (49%), fat obese I8 respondents (15.7%), skinny light level as much as 7 respondents (13.7), skinny weight levels as much as 6 respondents (11.8), obese II obese 4 respondents (7.8), fat level lightweight as much as 1 respondents (2%). The results of this research are expected to give an overview to the medical personnel associated with the status of the IMT in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, so that it can monitor and minimize the disruption to the nutrition in patients undergoing chemotherapy. Abstract

Abstract The purpose of this researchwas to identify the effect of essential oil rose aromatherapy to decrease pain of the patient’s cancer stage II. This research was quasyexperiment method by used pretest and posttestdesigns with control group. It was conducted in Awal Bros Hospital and Islamic of Ibnu Sina HospitalPekanbaruwith 30 respondents, 15 peoples in the experimental group and 15 others in control group with purposivesampling technique. This reserach instrument used by observation sheet.It used univariate and bivariate analysis that Wilcoxon and M­annWhitneytest.The results showed that there was significant difference between pain after given of essentialoilrose for experimental group and not given for control group (p value 0,000 < α 0,05). This research  wasrecommended of healthy institution for applicated as one of non farmachology therapy to decrease pain especially for patient’s cancer stage II. Keywords: Aromatheraphy, essential oil rose, the cancer patients stage II

Abstract

Abstract Insidence of cancer have a increased every year. Almost case of cancer finded in late stage cancer caused by delay treatment. Patient with late stage cancer have low survival year live. Treatment can be given in late stage cancer with existence of metastase process was paliatif care. The principle purpose of treatment focused to increase the quality of live and minimization symptom of cancer. This research was qualitative design with descriptive phenomenology method. The aim was to exploration the experienced of patient with late stage cancer who undergoing chemotherapy. The result was identified six themes, there are: 1) knowledge about chemotherapy, 2) side effect of chemotherapy, 3) coping during treatment, 4) support of family, 5) performance of nurse and 6) hopes to nurse. This result expected to nurse can gives information to understand the patient late stage cancer who undergoing chemotherapy. Nurse can give quality of paliatif care with caring attitude.
