Abstract

Peran kepemimpinan pada sebuah institusi pendidikan menjadi sangat fundamental dalam menjadikan institusinya sebagai organisasi belajar. Untuk dapat mewujudkan organisasi belajar, maka seorang pemimpin pada sebuah institusi pendidikan dituntut untuk mampu melaksanakan peranan-peranannya secara terpadu. Dalam hal ini, penulis mengangkat peranan wirausaha atau entrepreneur dari seorang pemimpin dalam mewujudkan organisasi belajar. Melalui organisasi belajar, akan terwujud institusi pendidikan yang unggul sehingga mampu bersaing secara nasional maupun internasional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan lebih rinci tentang pelaksanaan peran kepemimpinan dalam organisasi belajar berdasar pada kajian literatur.

Abstract

To describe how autonomous learning increases students’ English text reading skills. The research was conducted at Faculty of Economics, MH. Thamrin University, East Jakarta. The result of the research is as follows: (1) autonomous learning implementation at Faculty of Economics, MH. Thamrin University is generally good. The achievement of all indicators of autonomous learning is very high. (2) Students’ English text reading skills at Faculty of Economics, MH. Thamrin University is generally very good. The achievement of all indicators of reading skills strategies is very high. (3) Autonomous learning has been successfully implemented to increase the students’ English text reading skills at Faculty of Economics, MH. Thamrin University. Based on the research result, the students’ English text reading skills could be enhanced by deeply implementing the indicators of autonomous learning through 1). Developing self-awareness, 2). Developing effective learning strategies, 3). Developing thinking skills, 4). Developing organizational skills, 5). Developing cooperative skills, 6). Developing metacognitive skills, 7). Developing problem solving dan supporting others. It proves that autonomous learning can increase students’ English text reading skills.

Abstract

English is crucial for university students because it provides access to a wide range of academic resources and global knowledge. This study aims to analyze the types and frequency of syntactic errors in English writing by advanced students at the Faculty of Economics and Business. The research method used was a combination of qualitative and quantitative descriptive methods, with an error analysis approach. Data were obtained from academic essays written by 30 final-year students. The analysis showed that the most frequent syntactic errors were errors in the use of complex sentence structures, subject-verb imbalances, tense errors, and inappropriate use of conjunctions. The main factors causing these errors were a lack of in-depth understanding of English grammar rules and the influence of the structure of their first language (Indonesian). Furthermore, most students lacked formal experience in academic writing training, so they tended to translate directly from Indonesian and use tools such as Google Translate. Although some students made improvements, such as rereading their writing or using grammar-checking applications, these efforts were not consistently implemented. These findings are expected to provide evaluation material for academic English teaching, particularly in strengthening grammar aspects at the university level. This study also recommends error analysis-based learning strategies to improve students' writing skills.

Abstract

Student self-discipline does not emerge and develop suddenly without education, training, and internal and environmental encouragement. The research conducted in the Bachelor's Program of Public Health at MH. Thamrin University aims to analyze the online learning impact on the students’ self-discipline improvement. Quantitative research data were obtained by distributing questionnaires to twenty respondents as samples through Google Forms. The sampling was carried out randomly or through simple random sampling. The collected data were processed according to research procedures and analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis in SPSS 20. The results of this study indicate that self-discipline is crucial in online learning, and it can be fostered through various actions and measures such as motivation, scheduling, organizing, choosing a suitable study space, avoiding distractions, communication skills, time management, and contingency planning. Abstract

The achievement of high predicted TOEFL scores by students is not easily obtained without strong motivation and thorough preparation from both the students themselves and their environment. The research conducted at FETEC (Faculty of Economics Trisakti English Center) aims to analyze the students' motivation and TOEFL preparation classes in relation to their predicted TOEFL scores. Quantitative research data was collected by distributing questionnaires to 20 respondents as a sample, using Google Forms. Sampling was conducted randomly or through simple random sampling. The collected data was processed according to research procedures and analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis in SPSS 20. The results of this study indicate that students' motivation and TOEFL preparation classes are crucial in achieving high predicted TOEFL scores. This improvement is achieved through various actions and measures, ranging from basic security and social integration to personal achievement and self-fulfillment. It illustrates how different levels of needs—from basic to self-actualization—drive students to take action and enroll in preparation classes to achieve their goals. These actions significantly contribute to the growth of students’ motivation on the achievement of the predicted TOEFL score.  The greater the students' motivation to enroll in TOEFL preparation classes, the higher their predicted TOEFL scores. Attaining high predicted scores satisfies their academic requirements, allowing them to participate in their thesis defense.

Abstract

This study examines the behavior of students from the Faculty of Industrial Technology at Trisakti University in using social media platforms to improve their English-speaking skills. It investigates the frequency, purpose, and impact of social media on their learning process. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews. Data collection involved distributing questionnaires to 30 randomly selected respondents via Google Forms and conducting interviews. The collected data were processed according to research protocols and analyzed using multiple linear regression in SPSS 20. The results highlight key trends in student engagement, challenges encountered, and strategies for more effective use of social media for language learning. Factors such as frequency, purpose, accessibility, interactive learning, distractions, and limited feedback were found to significantly influence students’ use of social media to develop their English-speaking skills.

Abstract

The problem of 21st century education is one of them related to creative thinking skills. Learning activities that prioritize creative learning are usually seen when a search activity occurs. Creative learning based on discovery learning becomes a new innovation through the development of student worksheets. The purpose of this study is to develop English language student worksheets integrated with discovery learning in environmental science topics. The method used in this study is research and development (R&D) with the stages of development analyze, design, develop, implement, evaluate (ADDIE). This development method is carried out until the develop stage. The results of this study indicate that the student worksheets that have been developed have a category that is suitable for use in learning. Student worksheets are crucial for developing students' understanding of science and environmental learning. Students worksheets integrated with English and discovery learning are relevant to the needs of the 21st century. The educational innovation developed in this study needs to be further developed in the form of other products in the future.

Abstract

Abstract: One of the problems faced by urban communities is acid rain. Thisphenomenon occurs because of the high level of environmental damage thathas occurred in an area. Community service activities are an effort that canbe done to provide socialization related to acid rain. The purpose of thisactivity is to empower students' knowledge related to the term acid rain inEnglish. The implementation method used is to use the seminar method whichis carried out online. The results of this community service activity are thatthe seminar is able to empower students' knowledge. This result was obtainedwith evidence that there was an increase in pre-test and post-test scores. Theconclusion of this community service activity is that the seminar on acid rainin English can improve students' knowledge.
