Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the correlation between social support of husband of post cesarean section patient with her motivation to had an early mobilization. The population of this study were all post cesarean section patients of Kasuari Ward of Anutapura General Hospital of Palu between March-May 2014. Selected samples were 49 patients which collected using purposive sampling technique. This study was an analytic kind of study. This study was using questionnaires as research tool to collect main data in order to measuring the variables which were social support of patients’ husband, patients’ motivation and early mobilization. The questionnaires used were already valid and reliable. According to results analysis using pearson product moment technique, we found correlation coefficient between social support with early mobilization was (r) = 0.069 with (p) = 0.638 (p>0.05), which means that there is no significant correlation between social support of patients’ husband with her post cesarean section mobilization in Kausari Ward of Anutapura General Hospital of Palu. Otherwise, the correlation coefficent between patients’ motivation with her early mobilization was (r)= 0.688 with (p) = 0.000 (p<0.05) which means there is a significant correlation between patients’ motivation with her decision to did early mobilization of post caesarean section patients in Kasuari Ward of Anutapura General Hospital of Palu. Thus, health providers need to provide nformation about the importance of early mobilization for post caesarian women to improve their motivation in peracticing early mobilization.

Abstract

The Sea Center is a tourist attraction on the beach in the form of a natural well located in Towale village. Because it is unique and is widely used by the community for bathing, this tourist attraction needs to be researched to determine its potential, one of which is through the exploration of marine bacterial species, plus the research conducted is still very lacking or even non-existent. The purpose of this study was to isolate and characterize marine bacteria. The results showed that there were 6 isolates of marine bacteria obtained, namely isolates PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, PS5, PS6. Macroscopic characterization observations obtained colony shape, elevation shape and shape of the most dominant edges are irregularly shaped, convex and flat. While microscopic observations obtained the nature of marine bacterial isolates, namely 4 isolates are Gram positive coccus-shaped and 2 isolates are Gram negative bacillus-shaped.

Abstract

This study aims to isolate, characterize, evaluate antibacterial activity, and identify Actinomycetes isolates at the molecular level. The method used was an experimental approach with a descriptive design. The research consisted of several stages: (1) isolation and characterization through macroscopic, microscopic, and biochemical tests, and (2) antibacterial activity testing and molecular identification of Actinomycetes isolates. The results showed that five isolates—DP1, DP2, DP3, DP4, and DP5—were identified and suspected to belong to the genus Streptomyces. Macroscopic and microscopic characterization indicated that all isolates exhibited white, yellow, and brown colony colors and were Gram-positive. Biochemical tests showed positive results for catalase, coagulase, oxidase, citrate, and TSIA tests. Antibacterial activity assays against Escherichia coli and S. aureusrevealed that isolate DP4 had the strongest inhibition zone, while showing negative activity against S. typhi. In conclusion, five Actinomycetes isolates were successfully isolated from the sediment soil of Lake Poso. Isolate DP4 demonstrated the greatest potential as an antibacterial candidate by inhibiting two pathogenic bacteria. Based on 16S rDNA sequence similarity analysis, isolate DP4 was identified as S. aurantiacus with 99% similarity. Keywords: Actinomycetes, Antibacterial, Lake Poso, Exploration
