Abstract

The type of research conducted was quantitative research using quasi-experimental methods and The Pretest-Posttest Non-Equivalent Control Group design with the aim of knowing significant differences between RME teaching media assisted by the pixton application and conventional teaching media on students' interest in learning mathematics and which learning media is more affective . The samples used were students of class VIII.2 as the control class and students of class VIII.6 as the experimental class. The data collection process uses a questionnaire using a Likert scale, where the Likert scale is an ordinal scale, so the data analysis uses non-prametric statistics Mann Whitneyy U test. Based on data analysis with the Mann-Whitneyy U test, Asymp.Sig values are obtained (2- tailed) is 0.029. This significance value is less than 0.05 which results in H0 being rejected and H1 being accepted. So from this analysis it can be concluded that learning media based on Realistic Mathematics Education assisted by the pixton application is proven to be more affective in increasing students' interest in learning mathematics in SPLDV material compared to conventional learning.

Abstract

In Indonesia, the level of students' mathematical problem solving abilities can be said to be lacking due to the teacher's inability to condition a class well. So, to determine which method to use, teachers need to understand their students' abilities first, one of which is through diagnostic assessment. In this research, the researcher aims to find out whether it is possible that through diagnostic tests there is an influence on students' interest in learning on problem solving abilities in class VIII mathematics lessons at SMPN 46 Palembang. The type of research used is quantitative research with a sample of 29 students. The data collected used two techniques, namely questionnaires and also the results of diagnostic assessments. Meanwhile, the analysis used uses a technique which is a simple regression analysis test. Based on the results obtained, it shows that there is a high influence of interest in learning on the results of diagnostic assessments. The results obtained from the learning interest variable which influences the results of the diagnostic assessment in the form of problem solving abilities are results that can be said to be very high. In other words, it can be said that students' interest in learning greatly influences students' problem solving abilities as seen from the results of diagnostic assessments.

Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to produce a diagnostic assessment instrument for identifying students' problem solving abilities in terms of their interest in learning mathematics in the form of essay questions. This research is Research & Development (R & D) research using the Tessmer development model which is known as the formative evaluation type. Tessmer development consists of 4 stages, namely preliminary, self evaluation, prototyping stage (expert reviews, one-to-one and small group) and field tests. The student response questionnaire on the diagnostic test instrument met the criteria achieved and no improvements/revisions to the test instrument will be developed because more than 70% of students gave positive responses. From the results of the student response questionnaire, it can be seen that this diagnostic test instrument product can be said to be practical to use. The results of the diagnostic test data to identify students' problem solving abilities in terms of their interest in learning mathematics, it can be seen that the number of students in the high interest in learning category, who meet the Understanding Problem indicator is 60%, the percentage of students who fulfill the Devising a Plan indicator is 50%, The percentage of students who fulfill the Carrying Out The Plan indicator is 50% and only 30% of students fulfill the Looking Back indicator. Students with a medium interest in learning category, the Understanding Problem indicator of 40%, the percentage of students who fulfill the Devising a Plan indicator is 20%, the percentage of students who fulfill the carrying out the plan indicator is 20% and only 15% of students fulfill it. looking back indicator. And in the low interest in learning category which meets the Understanding Problem indicator of 25%, the percentage of students who fulfill the devising a Plan indicator is 10%, the percentage of students who fulfill the carrying out the plan indicator is 10% and only 0% of students fulfill the looking back indicator. Based on the results of students' work in answering diagnostic tests, it can be said that this test instrument product is quite effective in identifying students' problem solving abilities in terms of their interest in learning mathematics

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low mathematical communication skills of students which is one of the main problems in learning mathematics in schools. One of the causes is the lack of innovation in learning tools that can link mathematical concepts with students' daily life experiences. This study aims to describe the mathematical communication skills of students through the use of Digital Learner Worksheets (LKPD) based on the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach. This type of research is descriptive research conducted at SMP Negeri 45 Palembang in the 2024/2025 school year. The research sample consisted of class VIII.3 which amounted to 25 students. The research instruments were three essay questions to measure mathematical communication skills and semi-structured interviews. The data were analyzed using an assessment rubric and categorized into three levels of mathematical communication ability, namely high, medium, and low. The results showed that there were 6 students with high mathematical communication ability, 10 students with medium mathematical communication ability, and 9 students with low mathematical communication ability. The conclusion of this study confirms that the RME approach in Digital LKPD can support learners in expressing mathematical ideas more realistically and relevant to everyday life.
