Abstract

The purpose of this research is to provide an argument that implementing the guided note strategy when the teacher does not understand it, does not master the steps and is unable to create teaching materials that are in accordance with the chosen strategy will make learning not go according to expectations. This research method uses descriptive qualitative methods. The primary data sources used were Islamic Religious Education teachers and fifth grade students and secondary data was the principal of North Pesantren 18 Elementary School, Kapuas Hulu Regency. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews and documentation then data analysis using data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this research found: the teacher's learning planning had prepared lesson plans and guided note taking strategies. The implementation of learning went well but was not in accordance with the guided note taking strategy steps, and the obstacles found were teachers having difficulty in making teaching materials, teachers not understanding the strategic steps, insufficient time allocation, and the teacher is too fast and lacks focus in explaining the teaching material. This research not only reveals existing problems but also proposes recommendations for developing teacher training and curriculum adjustments that can enrich the learning process in the classroom. Thus, this study contributes to efforts to improve the quality of education and more effective teaching practices, especially in the context of Islamic Religious Education.

Abstract

The evaluation of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) plays a vital role in assessing the achievement of educational objectives, which focus not only on cognitive aspects but also on affective and psychomotor aspects. This study aims to analyse the implementation of IRE assessment and to identify the constraints and measures for improvement. The method used was a qualitative approach with data collection techniques involving observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that PAI learning evaluation is still dominated by the assessment of cognitive aspects, whilst the assessment of attitudes and religious practices has not been carried out optimally. The challenges faced include limitations in assessment instruments, the timing of implementation, and teachers’ competence in designing authentic assessments. Therefore, there is a need to develop more comprehensive assessment instruments and provide training for teachers so that they are able to carry out thorough and continuous assessment. With appropriate assessment, it is hoped that Islamic Religious Education (IRE) learning can produce students who not only understand religious teachings theoretically but are also able to practise them in daily life.

Abstract

This study provides a comprehensive review of Surah al-Baqarah [2:104], focusing specifically on the prohibition of rāʿinā. It employs a maʿnā cum maghzā approach to address the shortcomings of classical interpretations, which often overlook the verse's modern relevance. This research argues that the verse serves as a foundational principle for communication ethics, safeguarding prophetic dignity and preserving social harmony in Medina. The study aims to construct a holistic understanding of the verse through an analysis of its historical meaning (al-maʿnā al-tārīkhī) and its historical-contemporary significance (al-maghzā al-tārīkhī and al-maghzā al-mutaḥarrik al-muʿāṣir). Utilizing linguistic, intratextual, intertextual, and socio-historical methods, this study reveals that the prohibition against rāʿinā was not due to its inherent negative connotations or foreign origins. Instead, it constituted a divine response to the deliberate misuse and semantic distortion of the term by certain Jewish groups who sought to insult the Prophet Muḥammad. Furthermore, these findings hold significant contemporary relevance as a Quranic principle for combating hate speech and promoting wasatiyyah (moderation) within pluralistic societies. This research contributes to Quranic studies by offering a deeper interpretation that challenges traditional views and provides a framework for addressing modern communication challenges. [Studi ini secara komprehensif meninjau Surah al-Baqarah [2]:104, khususnya larangan rāʿinā. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan maʿnā cum maghzā untuk mengatasi kekurangan dalam interpretasi klasik yang sering mengabaikan relevansinya di era modern. Penelitian ini berargumen bahwa ayat tersebut berfungsi sebagai dasar etika komunikasi, melindungi martabat kenabian, dan menjaga harmoni sosial di Madinah. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk membangun pemahaman holistik tentang ayat tersebut melalui analisis makna historis (al-maʿnā al-tārīkhī) dan signifikansi historis-kontemporernya (al-maghzā al-tārīkhī dan al-maghzā al-mutaḥarrik al-muʿāṣir). Dengan menggunakan metode linguistik, intratextual, intertextual, dan sosio-historis, studi ini mengungkapkan bahwa larangan terhadap rāʿinā bukan disebabkan oleh konotasi negatif yang melekat atau asal-usul asingnya, melainkan sebagai respons ilahi terhadap penyalahgunaan dan distorsi semantik yang disengaja oleh kelompok-kelompok Yahudi tertentu yang bertujuan untuk menghina Nabi Muḥammad. Selain itu, temuan ini sangat relevan saat ini sebagai prinsip Qur’ani untuk melawan ujaran kebencian dan mempromosikan wasatiyyah (moderasi) dalam masyarakat yang plural.
