Abstract

The development of national character can be done through the development of one's individual character. However, because humans live in a certain social and cultural environment, the development of a person's individual character can only be done in the relevant social and cultural environment. That is, the development of culture and character can be carried out in an educational process that does not release students from the social environment, community culture, and national culture. The research used is ex post facto, where the researcher connects causes and effects that are not manipulated or treated (designed and implemented) by the researcher. PAI learning is significantly related to the character of students, because the value of p = 0.000 is smaller than 5%. The correlation criterion is very strong (ry 1.2 = 0.886). Thus, school culture and PAI learning are related either independently or not with the character of the students of Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Palopo. The most dominant variable influencing the student's character is the PAI learning variable. Based on the hypothesis test, it was concluded that school culture and PAI learning together had a positive effect on the character of junior high school students. There is a positive influence between school culture and PAI learning with student character, this shows that student character will increase if school culture and PAI learning at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Palopo. Abstract

This article discusses early marriage in coastal communities. This study uses quality research. The phenomenon of underage marriage in North Luwu Regency is considered high in recent years. The reasons for early marriage occurring in North Luwu district are poverty and education which influence the occurrence of early marriage. Poverty is one of the causes of inability to access education and unemployment. Without education, there has been a paradigm shift and culture. Furthermore, the static paradigm is one of the reasons for the persistence of culture and customs, including culture and customs that are not prospective. The factors that cause the spouse to be underage because the prospective bride has become pregnant before marriage, is due to the weak economic condition of the community, due to the weak level of education of the community. This causes parents to prefer to marry off their children. The efforts taken by the Head of the Masamba Court, KUA, PPN Officers in minimizing the practice of underage marriage include PPN Officers also coordinating with PPN Assistant Officers who are scattered in each sub-district / village, coordination is carried out in relation to the VAT Assistance function which is the extension of VAT. PPN officers in minimizing the practice of underage marriage are by socializing the Marriage Law, especially regarding the age limit for a person to marry and the importance of registering marriage. The socialization process is carried out when giving wedding sermons and other religious events.

Abstract

IAIN Palopo sebagai lembaga Pendidikan Tinggi yang memiliki tata kelolah dengan pola kepemimpinan yang efektif dan efisien, akuntabel, kredibel, transparan, bertanggung jawab, dan adil. Adapun deskripsi nilai utama kearifan lokal yang dijadikan sistem manajemen yang diinternalisasikan terlebih dahulu sebagai dasar dalam melaksanakan kegiatan manajerial namun juga diterapkan ke mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan menggunakan  pendekatan etnopedagogi. Penerapan budaya Bugis pada IAIN dilakukan model tudassipulung, pelaksanaan ini cukup efektif, Hal ini terlihat nilai Bugis (Pesse) diterapkan dalam kampus maupun di luar kampus. Nilai pluralisme empati dalam pendidikan kearifan lokal budaya Bugis terjelma konsep pesse seperti nilai Sipakatau, Sipakalebbi, Sipakaingge, Sipakatou. Budaya Bugis punya cinta dan kasih sayang terhadap sesama ditunjukkan dengan pepatah seperti Mali siparappe, rebba sipatokkong, malilu sipakainge (orang lain terhanyut, dibantu, orang lain terjatuh dibantu agar bangkit, orang lain keluar dari norma-norma diingatkan/diinsyafkan). Orang Bugis menghargai kedamaian, senang membantu sesama manusia, apalagi jika itu saudara sesama manusia. kearifan lokal, misalnya; Sipakatau artinya saling memanusiakan manusia, Sipakalebbi artinya saling memuliakan, Sipakaingge’, artinya saling mengingatkan. Hal tersebut harus tetap dipelihara dan disosialisasikan, sehingga menjadi perekat bagi terciptanya serta terpeliharanya kerukunan umat beragama di Kota Palopo.

Abstract

This phenomenological study deeply reveals the subjective experiences of interfaith couples in Tana Toraja in negotiating religious identities in private spaces. The findings highlight that negotiation is a dynamic process influenced by awareness of differences, adaptation strategies, the socio-cultural context of Tana Toraja, and the formation of subjective meaning. Factors driving interfaith marriages include freedom to choose a partner, feelings of liking and love, and sometimes a lack of understanding of religion. The main implications touch on spiritual principles, with concerns about potential conflict. However, successful negotiation is based on a commitment to mutual respect, active tolerance, open and empathetic communication, compromise, the formation of inclusive family rituals, and the arrangement of space and time. The socio-cultural context of Tana Toraja, along with its family and tolerance values , also influences the dynamics of this negotiation. Minimizing interfaith marriages internally involves several key strategies: 1) Parents or families play a crucial role in fortifying their children through controlling and teaching Islamic beliefs (aqidah) and morals. Moreover, 2) the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA, Kantor Urusan Agama) can optimize the role of Islamic Religious Counselors in each village by collaborating with Mosque Imams to provide counseling on the importance of marriage registration and educate about the potential risks associated with interfaith marriages.
