Abstract

Objectives: A descriptive study that aimed to find out demographic characteristics of mothers like age , level of education , occupation and resident area, to find out demographic characteristics of child regarding age , sex and birth order of the child and kind of feeding breast feeding and to assess the mother practices among using oral rehydration solution. Methodology: The study was carried out at Child and Maternal Babylon Hospital, study period extended from December(2016) to end of the February(2017). Anon-probability sample was selected from Child and Maternal Babylon Hospital and al-Hashemia Hospital, the sample consisted (100) mothers. Results : showed that (64% ) of mothers their age between ( 20-30 ) years . also results reveal that ( 56% ) of mothers graduate from primary school ,and show that ( 93% ) of mothers were unemployed.

Abstract

Background: The parents lay the foundations for the lives of their children. When a child is born with adevelopmental disorder, parents also need support in maintaining normal developmental abilities. There’s noway of predicting when a child can master self-help skills. Parents should be assisted, including the child’sprimary caregiver and teacher, and must also include sufficient details on the treatment, disease state andcommercially accessible tools that can help their children gain independence.Aims: This study aims to assess the family knowledge toward their children With Autism Spectrum Disorderat Al-Hilla City, IraqMethod: This quantitative study using a descriptive correlational design to study the assessment of FamilyKnowledge toward their children With Autism at Al-Hilla City. A convenience sample of (n=50) consistingof families. Data were selected over two months from the first of September 2019 to the first of November2019.Results: showed significant differences in autism disorder knowledge between age group.Conclusion: Knowledge of the family of Autism spectrum disorder at Hila is on the moderate and differssignificantly by age, education, and location. Consequently, it is recommended that autism disordereducation should be used to improve their knowledge of the disorder, especially for those with nonformal education, older parents and those in the rural areas, through intervention by government and nongovernment agencies.

Abstract

Background: Nutrition has a main impact on the health promotion of school-age children, it is crucial thatthe rising energy demands that come with this age are met daily with high nutritional value foods. Schoolagechildren get a well-balanced diet, an average of 2400 calories per day required to meet growth needs, asthe child’s size grows, as well as the amount of food requiredMethod: Descriptive design study was used and get the stated objectives the period of one month (from thefirst of January, 2020 to the first of February, 2020).Results: The data analysis was indicated that the largest percentage of gender is female (97%); all of themare in the fifth class and 32% of mothers and 31% of fathers are graduated from primary school, most ofthem from urban area 86%.Conclusion: All of the children were in the 5th class—most children with normal weight. Most children havebreakfast daily. Most of the children have three meals daily. Most mothers choose easy to prepare food forher child. There is no a relationship between education of the mother and eating breakfast. However, thereare a relationship between monthly income and eating fruits .

Abstract

Aims: To comparing maternal anxiety levels for infants in the NICU and mother in the postnatal care-service(PCS) for stable newborns. Methodology This descriptive study was carried out in Al-Hilla Children’s andBirth Hospital, Al-Hilla City . The 1st 200 families, counting pregnant mother in personal care services(n=100) and pregnant women in neonatal intensive care unit (n=100), backed up by participant as ofMay , 2018. As data gathering tools, including the STAI TX-1-STAI TX-2 inventory, questionnaires wereused to detect the characteristic of mother and newborn. Results Characteristic rates of anxiety were notsubstantially different between NICU neonate mothers and PCS neonate mothers (t = 0.588, p = 0.557),while status level of anxiety varied greatly among the 2 classes (t = -5.109, p = < 0.001). Motherland anxietylevel were determined to be higher for mother whose children in the NICU compared with those of motherwhose children were on personal care-services. Conclusion It can boost anxiety and lead to mothers beinga mother to a newborn sick. During this difficult time, nursing care may rise mothers’ ability to deal with thesick stresses of the newborn

Abstract

Aims: The purpose of this study is to assess the prevalence of thumb sucking habit between preschoolersand the effect on their occlusion of the habit.Materials and Methods: 42 of pre-school children aged 4-5 years who were inspected by questioning forthe presence or absence of thumb sucking habit, and thumb examination, and the teeth were examined forthe presence of decreased over flight and overbite or open bite.Results: Total number children have thumb sucking habit, and open bite of them.Conclusion: In this age group (4-5) years , the number of children with thumb sucking habit was consideredhigh and the habit was found to increase the prevalence of malocclusion of deciduous.
