Abstract

Abstract

The Indonesian fiber cement board industry faces increasing pressure to enhance sustainability due to growing environmental global concerns and regulatory demands. The companies in this sector must address multiple sustainability criteria such as waste management, resource utilization, and compliance with environmental regulations to remain competitive and sustainable. However, identifying which criteria are the most influential in driving overall sustainability outcomes presents a challenge. Previous studies have often examined these criteria in isolation, without considering their interdependencies. To address this gap, this study integrates the Delphi method with DEMATEL and ANP to analyze and prioritize key sustainability criteria for a fiber cement board company. By developing a comprehensive framework, this research aims to provide actionable insights that will help companies enhance their sustainability performance. In this research, PT. XYZ, a well-known fiber cement board manufacturer in Central Java, Indonesia, was used as a case study. The result shows that the DEMATEL-ANP method reveals that waste management, compliance with environmental regulations, and resource and material management are the most critical criteria, with high prominence and influence scores. These findings suggest that focusing on these critical areas first, followed by processing other criteria accordingly, can significantly enhance the company’s sustainability performance.

Abstract

This study aims to determine which variable, entrepreneurship education or self-efficacy, influences entrepreneurial interest more. It is hypothesized that the influence of entrepreneurship education on entrepreneurial interest is greater than the influence of self-efficacy. This hypothesis was tested using stepwise regression. The subjects of this study were 100 students of the entrepreneurship concentration of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UKSW. The results of the data analysis showed a rejection of the hypothesis because it was found that the influence of the self-efficacy variable on entrepreneurial interest was greater than the influence of entrepreneurship education. Changes in the self-efficacy variable explained 48.9% of the variance (adjusted R² = 0.489). Including the entrepreneurship education variable only added 1.8% to the explanation of the variance in entrepreneurial interest (adjusted R² increased to 0.507). These findings suggest that the entrepreneurship education curriculum, together with the teaching process, environment, and supporting facilities, must foster an entrepreneurial spirit to improve students' standards and enthusiasm for pursuing an entrepreneurial career.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to address the challenges of demand variability in Indonesia's poultry industry, which often leads to production inefficiencies, including overproduction and shortages, by proposing a stochastic production plan that minimizes costs associated with these inefficiencies within the context of the Indonesian cooperative funding system. Research Design & Methods: A stochastic lot-sizing model was developed, and an experiment was set up with five assessment strategies: basic average demand plan, high reliability demand coverage, cumulative demand, cyclical surplus adjustment, and consecutive surplus adjustment plans. The evaluation phase was conducted at two confidence levels (α = 0.90 and α = 0.95) to assess each plan's ability to minimize total costs effectively. Findings: The results revealed that the cumulative demand strategy consistently outperformed other strategies, minimizing surplus and shortage costs at both α = 0.90 and α = 0.95. This plan demonstrated the lowest surplus-to-demand ratio, making it the most effective in managing production inefficiencies and reducing costs. Implications and Recommendations: Implementing the cumulative demand strategy could significantly enhance the efficiency of production planning in Indonesia's poultry industry by reducing waste and optimizing resources, especially in cooperative funding systems. Contribution & Value Added: This study contributes to the literature by providing an empirical analysis of production planning strategies in the context of demand variability, offering valuable insights into cost-effective solutions for handling production inefficiencies in the poultry industry.
