Abstract

This study aims to understand to what extent the digital tourism development has been implemented by government of Indonesia and what strategies they use to reach that goal. Digitalization is an unavoidable change that has been influencing all aspect of people’s life, creating opportunity to digitalize tourism in Indonesia as one of main strategies in recovering economic performance post covid-19. The fact that tourism is one of the most significant sectors in Indonesia, urges local government to take significant role to ensure the digital tourism development is smoothly implemented. The novelty of this study lies in its exploration initiative on government strategies while study about digital tourism development is lacking. Content analysis was utilized to explore information from books, journals, interview report in newspaper and government website. The study revealed out that by utilizing partnership strategy with state-owned enterprises, start-ups and local people, government of Indonesia consistently prepares the infrastructure and incentive to support digitalization of its tourism in 4 main aspects which are digital distribution channel, digital promotion, digital payment and digital training.

Abstract

Developed countries are racing to propose new concept of technology revolution that will bring more benefit to human life. In industrial level, the concept of industry 4.0 has been introduced and applied by most developed countries. Meanwhile, the developing countries are preparing themselves to adopt this new concept and increase their competitiveness in the global market. Indonesia is not excluded from this euphoria. However a lack of regional economic study becomes barrier, especially the readiness of Indonesia to adopt industry 4.0 remains a big question. This study aims to provide a descriptive analysis of Indonesia readiness for industry 4.0 based on its economic and information communication and technology (ICT) development at provincial level. Data visualization and regional economic portfolio matrix analysis method were employed to analyze secondary data from various valid and reliable sources. Jakarta, East Java, West Java, Central Java, Riau, Banten, South Sulawesi and East Kalimantan becomes the most promising provinces with gross regional domestic product and ICT development index above average. Meanwhile, North Sumatra has gross regional domestic product above the average but ICT development index below the average. Reversely, provinces like West Sumatra, South Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, West Papua, Bali, Riau Islands, Yogyakarta and North Kalimantan have ICT development index above the average but gross regional domestic product below the average. The other provinces out of those that are already mentioned still need to spend more effort to increase its economic performance and ICT development within their region.

Abstract

TikTok is a recent global phenomenon and in the first quarter of 2020 alone it has TikTok been downloaded 315 million times. People love it because it allows them to spur creativity in video content and increase their online presence. Founded by a Chinese company, this social networking application has become a trend for about 400 million loyal users in China. However, studies about how people become loyal to TikTok are lacking. This study aims to examine the effect of service quality and satisfaction to loyalty of TikTok users in China. Since the study was focused in an online environment, the terms E-service quality, E-satisfaction and E-loyalty are used instead of the conventional ones. SEM-PLS was employed to analyze valid and reliable data which was successfully collected from 400 Chinese TikTok users. The result confirmed that E-service quality affects significantly and positively E-satisfaction and E-loyalty, E-satisfaction also significantly and positively affects E-loyalty and E-satisfaction mediates the relationship between E-service quality and E-loyalty. Since the TikTok application is easy to use with interesting features for its users, the company has successfully delivered information about the booming of TikTok use all over the world and impressing users so that they have high trust in the application’s ability to make them more famous and socially famous. Therefore users believe that TikTok can provide them something better than what they expected. When reality exceeds the expectation, customers will be satisfied. TikTok is also believed to have a good, reliable and available system.

Abstract

Indonesia remains attractive for economic study. Its development makes Indonesia interesting for investment with no exception to automotive industry. Indonesia is the country holding the biggest car purchase record South East Asian countries. There will be more challenges along with opportunities ahead therefore industrial analysis is required in order to help automotive players in Indonesia to prepare appropriate strategies for their sustainability and growth. In this paper, PEST analysis was utilized to identify politic, economic, social and technology environment of current Indonesia automotive industry and 5 Forces Michael Porter analysis was utilized to measure the industry attractiveness. It was founded out that there is potential in production growth because government intervened by promoting local content requirement policy for all OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to be fully implemented in 2019. The opportunity has also come from growth of financial industry since 65% of Indonesian people buy car by credit. Infrastructure development and government spending will also drive industry growth for specific category of vehicles. However control from government is still needed to balance the use of personal vehicle and mass transportation, otherwise it will result in more traffic problem, air pollution and decrease comfort in big cities such as Jakarta. While rivalry, threat of substitute and bargaining power of suppliers are high, bargaining power of buyer is low and threat of new entrant for automotive industry in Indonesia is medium considering high initial investment

Abstract

International investment is strategic step for country due to lack of capital and technology transfer and it is generally well known as Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). Many policy makers and academics contend that FDI can have important positive effects on a host country’s development effort. This research examines the impact of Foreign Direct Investment on Economic Growth in the United States by multiple linear regression model and its estimation using ordinary least squares (OLS). This research classifies all the sectors to be 10 sectors. This research uses data for the period 2000 –2017 and suggests that not all forms of foreign investment seem to be beneficial to host economies. Some sectors provide positive correlation to economic growth and some provides negative effect. Nevertheless, it is significant yet, this is because there is different characteristic between developed and developing countries. Economic growth in the U.S is mostly driven by personal consumption.

Abstract

The integrated program on poverty reduction proposed by Indonesian government, though statically proven reduce the poverty rate Indonesia, still invite critiques from experts argued that it was not really effective and touched root of problems. Therefore new approach has to be introduced. This paper introduced new brand strategy for local culture that can empower local people to survive by their own and by this way. The distribution of government program shall not be issue anymore. Theory of cultural branding was used as fundamental of this paper. Bali island has been successfully applied this strategy since a long time ago. It is interesting fact that tourists had got much education about the sacred culture and traditional belief in products and places in Bali. Therefore they were motivated to consume, some of them looked for safety, happiness, miracle and benefit from sacred story. This strategy is proven effective since it can increase price of their product beyond logic and it is potential to apply widely in other areas such as Batu, Singapore and other cultural areas both in Indonesia and in global scope.
