Abstract

The mosque is an integral part of the circuit-worship rituals of Islam. For Muslims in Indonesia, the role of the mosque as a place of worship, examines religion and some other activities occupy a strategic position not only as a religious symbol but more emphasis on the function of the space as a public building. Utilization of space in public buildings as well as space-ritual-social space will have meaning for the people in view of adaptation space used. Awareness of the importance of effective space utilization and management of water resources wisely in support of the ritual apply the principles of sustainable architecture will have a positive impact for the people to give directions as to how the principle of austerity-not wasteful in Islam can be applied. This paper will discuss about the process of continuous learning from the essence of understanding of the mosque as a model in implementing the process of life, taking into account the principles of simplicity, functional and wisdom, especially in the efficiency of utilization of local resources. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive, which is explained the theory and based on literature and accompanied by case study that have implemented the principles. The output of this application of the principles of sustainable architecture in the planning and use of mosques as a place in the relationship with God and with fellow human relations can be a model for the faithful to deal with wisely challenge natural resource constraints, especially for future generations.

Abstract

In order to achieve the concept of sustainable cities and communities, the historical and cultural richness of a city becomes one of the main sustainability modalities. The historical and cultural heritage of a city should be an important object protected by its existence and provide an identity. One of the important cultural heritages around Bandung is Kampung Mahmud. Kampung Mahmud is located 1.5 kilometres from the city of Bandung. This traditional village still holds the customs as cultural heritage and contribute to the development and spread of Islam in the city of Bandung. The existence of this village becomes an irony when its location lies between city life with all its modernity. How can the traditional kampung be able to have cultural resilience against other influences and challenges that can threaten sustainability? The study aimed to find the role of cultural resilience in Kampung Mahmud. The method used is a qualitative method that relates the instrument of cultural resilience theory to the facts that occur in the object of study. The output of this research is the principles of cultural resilience is successfully applied to Kampung Mahmud and can be an example for other regions.

Abstract

Kota multibudaya merupakan fenomena wujud kota yang terbentuk dari beragam perbedaan budaya di dalam kota. Kondisi tersebut, dalam beberapa tahun terakhir menjadi isu besar yang bukan hanya terjadi pada kota-kota di Indonesia yang memiliki keragaman etnis, namun juga terjadi pada kota-kota di negara maju seperti Amerika Serikat, Inggris dan negara Eropa lainnya. Kedatangan imigran dari bangsa lain mendorong munculnya komunitas budaya baru di dalam kota yang mengakibatkan hadirnya kantong budaya tertentu. Adakah interaksi di antara komunitas budaya tersebut? Apakah dampaknya pada ruang-ruang kota? Bagaimana cara mengukur interaksi tersebut? Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi metode analisis untuk mengukur interaksi pada ruang-ruang kota multibudaya. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif eksplotarif yang menjabarkan analisis Space syntax dengan bantuan perangkat lunak DepthMapX. Hasil dari tulisan ini adalah gambaran jelas dan mendetail mengenai metode analisis Space syntax beserta manfaatnya dalam membantu menspasialisasikan konsep multibudaya dalam kota.Kata Kunci : kota, multibudaya, interaksi, analisis, space syntax.

Abstract

Cagar budaya Indonesia adalah sebuah bukti atau dokumen sejarah yang mengandung sejumlah pesan yang kemudian akan diingat oleh generasi ke generasi. Dalam pelestarian cagar budaya sebaiknya melibatkan banyak orang dan lembaga yang memiliki satu tujuan dengan berorientasi jangka panjang. Contoh dari bangunan cagar budaya adalah Stasiun Jatinegara. Stasiun Jatinegara merupakan salah satu stasiun besar yang berada di Jakarta Timur dan telah berusia 135 tahun. Sebagai bagian dari warisan budaya bangsa, setiap cagar budaya wajib untuk dilestarikan. Penelitian kualitatif melalui metode observasi dilakukan agar dapat memahami kondisi awal dari Stasiun Jatinegara ini tetap dipertahankan dengan penyesuaian terhadap fungsi. Perubahan fisik dilakukan tanpa mengubah kondisi aslinya dengan membangun bangunan baru walaupun ada beberapa perubahan. Pada akhir penelitian diketahui bahwa perubahan yang dialami menggunakan strategi adaptative reuse dan pendekatan contextual juxtaposition yang diimplementasikan dengan mengubah kegunaan bangunan agar sesuai dengan kebutuhan masyarakat saat ini tanpa melakukan perubahan menyeluruh.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi persepsi keamanan orang tua dan ketersediaan fasilitas bermain di lingkungan perkotaan serta pengaruhnya terhadap kebebasan bermain dan interaksi sosial anak-anak sekolah dasar di sekitar Universitas Pancasila, Jakarta. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami bagaimana persepsi orang tua terhadap keamanan lingkungan dan akses ruang terbuka hijau memengaruhi pola bermain dan keterlibatan sosial anak-anak. Metodologi yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan wawancara mendalam semi-terstruktur kepada orang tua dan observasi langsung terhadap ruang bermain di lingkungan tempat tinggal mereka. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan teknik analisis tematik untuk mengidentifikasi pola dan tema utama terkait persepsi keamanan serta akses ruang terbuka hijau. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persepsi keamanan lingkungan memengaruhi kebebasan bermain anak. Orang tua yang merasa lingkungannya aman cenderung memberikan kebebasan lebih besar bagi anak-anak untuk bermain di luar rumah, sementara mereka yang merasa lingkungannya tidak aman lebih memilih membatasi aktivitas anak-anak mereka. Selain itu, akses ruang terbuka hijau yang baik mendukung interaksi sosial melalui permainan kelompok, yang meningkatkan keterampilan sosial anak. Sebaliknya, keterbatasan fasilitas bermain di kawasan perkotaan mengurangi kebebasan bermain dan menghambat perkembangan sosial anak-anak. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan penting bagi perencanaan kota, terutama terkait desain ruang publik yang ramah anak. Hasil ini menekankan pentingnya keamanan lingkungan dan aksesibilitas ruang terbuka hijau untuk mendukung kebebasan bermain serta perkembangan sosial anak-anak di kawasan perkotaan. This study examines parents' perceptions of safety and the availability of play facilities in urban environments, as well as their impact on the play freedom and social interactions of elementary school children residing near Universitas Pancasila, Jakarta. The study aims to understand how parents' perceptions of environmental safety and access to green open spaces affect children's play patterns and social engagement. This research employed a qualitative approach, involving semi-structured in-depth interviews with parents and direct observation of play areas in their neighborhoods. Data analysis was conducted using thematic analysis to identify patterns and themes related to safety perceptions and access to green open spaces. The findings reveal that parents' perceptions of environmental safety have a significant impact on their children's freedom to play. Parents who perceive their environment as safe are more likely to allow their children to play outdoors, while those who feel unsafe tend to restrict their children's activities. Furthermore, access to green open spaces enhances social interaction through group play, fostering children's social skills. In contrast, limited access to play facilities in urban areas reduces play freedom and hampers children's social development. This study provides valuable insights for urban planning, particularly in designing child-friendly public spaces. The findings emphasize the importance of ensuring environmental safety and accessible green spaces to support children's freedom of play and social development in urban areas.
