Abstract

The occurrence of flood disasters is an annual unavoidable event in the Mejobo District, Kudus Regency. This study aims to map the vulnerable areas to floods in the Mejobo District using spatial modelling. The parameters used to determine the vulnerability areas include soil type, elevation, population density, river buffer, rainfall, and land use. The research location is situated in the Mejobo District. The research method employed is the models and multicriteria decision-making (MCDM) techniques, with the assistance of ArcGIS software for data processing and analysis. The research findings yield a final map depicting flood vulnerability, which indicates the distribution of flood-prone areas. Areas with a high level of flood vulnerability are dispersed across agricultural fields and areas adjacent to rivers, covering an area of 1,770 hectares. Meanwhile, areas with a moderate level of vulnerability are predominantly distributed in residential areas, covering an area of 1,907 hectares.

Abstract

Abstract:  Research in Indonesia related to spatial views is still limited to spatial thinking, spatial abilities, and thinking geographically. There is further development related to spatial citizenship that has been researched outside Indonesia, namely spatial citizenship. Spatial citizenship can be found in a university environment in the field of geography studies. The basic ability that must be possessed in learning Geography is spatial thinking ability. Students' spatial thinking ability in describing abstract space is still relatively low due to a lack of familiarity with working on questions that hone spatial abilities. The research objectives focus on 1) analyzing the level of mastery of spatial thinking ability and spatial citizenship among students, 2) analyzing the influence of spatial thinking on the spatial citizenship competence of Geography education students. The research design used is a survey method with a quantitative approach. The population of this research was all Geography education students, totaling 15 students. The sampling technique used in this research was purposive sampling. The data analysis techniques in this research are descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results of data analysis show 1) students have differences in mastery of spatial thinking, namely with an average level of mastery of spatial thinking of 42%, 2) overall mastery of spatial citizenship skills with an average of 19.8%. 2) Spatial thinking has a significant influence on spatial citizenship with a percentage of 45%. The study of spatial thinking and spatial citizenship among geography education students is not yet optimal so it needs to be studied in more detail and more broadly, even in relation to literacy. This can be used as a basis for preparing teaching materials, evaluating learning in improving spatial thinking skills..

Abstract

Assessment is essential in the education system to monitor educational development and make appropriate instructional decisions. This study aims to analyze the quality of multiple choice questions based on high-level thinking skills (HOTS) in the Geography subject using Anates Windows Version 4.0.9 software. This evaluative research involves analysis of final semester exam questions for class X Geography at SMA Islam Al Azhar 14 Semarang. Data consisting of questions, answer keys and exam results were collected from 32 students. The analysis was carried out descriptively and quantitatively to assess the level of difficulty, discriminating power, reliability, effectiveness of distractors, and validity of the questions. The analysis results show that the difficulty level of most of the questions is in the medium category (50%). The discriminating power is mostly good, although several questions are wrong or bad. Most of the distractors worked well, but some questions had ineffective distractors. Regarding validity, 17 questions were valid, while 11 questions were invalid. The reliability of the test is in the high category, with a reliability coefficient of 0.71. Anates Windows Version 4.0.9 software effectively analysed the quality of HOTS questions. These findings indicate that although most of the questions are of good quality, some require revision to increase their validity and effectiveness. This research emphasizes the importance of using technology in educational assessment to ensure the quality and fairness of exam questions. It contributes to developing assessment tools to improve students' higher-order thinking skills. Keywords: Item Analysis; Multiple Choice; HOTS; SMA Islam Al-Azhar
