Abstract

Cigarette is one of the international industrial and commodity products containing about 4,000 chemicals. Important elements include: Tar, Nicotine, Benzopyrin, Methyl-chloride, Acetone, Ammonia and Carbon Monoxide. The sample used consists of 30 pregnant women who are the total population. The results of this study found the majority of respondents from all 30 respondents were found to be well-knowledgeable data as many as 4 respondents (13.33%) 11 respondents (36, 66%) 15 respondents (50%) who had less knowledge therefore, it is expected that all health workers, especially health workers in the Maternity Home, will improve and provide counseling to pregnant women about the dangers of smoking to fetal growth and development.
