Abstract

Reclamation of former mines hereinafter referred to as reclamation is an attempt to repair or reclaim land and vegetation in degraded forest areas as a result of mining and energy business activities in order to function optimally according to With the designation (Permenhut number: 146-Kpts-II-1999). Revegetation is a former mine. This activity is intended to restore, maintain and improve the functions of forests and land so that the carrying capacity, productivity, and role in supporting the life buffer system is maintained (anonymous, 2004). The objectives of the study are to know the height and diameter growth of the Sengon (Paraserianthes falcataria), Sengon Buto (Enterolobium cyclocarpum), Johar (Cassea Siamea) and Trembesi (Samanea Saman) in flat areas and Area of the slope on a former mine and to find out if there is any difference in growth in both conditions of the area. This research was conducted in PT. Khotai Makmur Insan Abadi (KMIA) in Separi village of Tenggarong Seberang district from Kutai Kartanegara Regency for 3 months which is from October to December 2018 conducted in two conditions with the creation of plots namely on a flat area and slope area with a size of 20x20 m each two pieces plot. The research plots are placed intentionally (purposive) to be able to represent the desired location. The measurement of the diameter using phiband and height using the Clinometer is done on the tree that goes inside the plot. The measurement results are processed using simple statistics and to know the difference in the growth used t-test . Based on the results of observation, collection and processing of data, it can be concluded that the plant growth of Sengon (Paraserianthes falcataria), Sengon Buto (Enterolobium cyclocarpum), Johar (Cassea siamea) and Trembesi (Samanea saman) that 3 years old on former land of PT. Khotai Makmur Insan Abadi (KMIA) in Separi village Tenggarong Seberang district the Regency of Kutai Kertanegara relatively equal. Then based on the results of the t-test is obtained there is no difference in plant growth between the slope area and in the flat area. The advice that can be given from this research is the need to be diversified planting distances to get the closure of the ideal vegetation.

Abstract

Forests are one of the great natural resources of benefit to human welfare. Forests are also the basic capital of national development. As the basic capital of national development, the forest must be preserved so that the benefits of this forest will not only be enjoyed now, but for generations to come. Therefore, these forest resources need to be managed properly and appropriately so that the benefits and results can be optimal and sustainable. The purpose of this research was to find out the growth of the diameter and height of sungkai plants (Peronema canescens) aged 27 years in the Forest of Agricultural Polytechnic plants of Samarinda State. The expected result of this research is as an information material to the relevant parties as a consideration for the management of sungkai plants in the future. This research was carried out in the campus area of Samarinda State Agricultural Polytechnic. The material used is a 27-year-old sungkai (Peronema canescens) tree as many as 144 trees that were carried out for 3 (three) months, namely in October to December 2019. Diameter Measurement using Phiband and Height using Clinometer and tools in the form of pole / stick along 4 m. The results obtained are processed with simple statistics and analyzed using descriptive methods. Based on the results of processing and analysis of data that has been done, it can be concluded that the planting diameter of plants sungkai age 27 years in the area of Agricultural Polytechnic samarinda varies greatly with an average diameter of 17.42 cm, where plants with large diameters grow on the edge of the area and small ones are in the middle of the area. While the growth of sungkai plant height is relatively uniform with an average height of 20.19 m. The advice given from the results of this study is that there needs to be maintenance especially for looting because the growing space is less than ideal anymore. This can be seen by the related header of such plants in so difficult to distinguish the tip of the header from each other

Abstract

Forest is a natural resource that can be renewed and utilized. Utilization of forest resources must pay attention to the principle of being beneficial and providing sustainable results for humans. Forests must be maintained in order to get these benefits. The purpose of this study was to determine the height and diameter of the Red Meranti tree (Shorea pauciflora C.F. Gaertn) at the age of 13 at the Botanical Garden Unmul Samarinda (KRUS). The expected results of this study are to provide information on the height and diameter growth of red meranti (Shorea pauciflora.C.F.Gaertn). This research was conducted at the Kebun Raya Unmul Samarinda (KRUS) for 2 months, namely July - August 2020. Sampling was done with simple random sampling, on red meranti plants 13 years old with a spacing of 6 x 6 m as much as 50 trees. Measuring Diameter using Phiband and Height using a clinometer and a 4 m long pole tool. The results obtained were processed with simple statistics and analyzed using descriptive methods. Based on the results of the processing and data analysis carried out, it can be concluded that the diameter growth of the red meranti plant aged 13 years in the Botanical Garden of Unmul Samarinda (KRUS) did not vary (relatively uniform) with an average diameter of 13.42 cm, where the plant with a diameter large grow on the edge of the area and small ones are in the middle of the area. Meanwhile, the height growth of red meranti plants did not show any variation (relatively uniform) with an average height of 11.59 m. To get optimal results, both in height and diameter, plant maintenance activities are needed, especially cleaning existing weeds.

Abstract

Weeds growing wild among the staple crops cultivated by farmers have become a serious problem and must be immediately controlled, especially in forestry, agricultural and plantation areas. Therefore, practical knowledge is needed about how to manage the problem of weeds that grow undesirable and how to overcome them. Non-chemical weed control is carried out with physical activity. Physical activity carried out by workers while working is a physical workload that will affect their work productivity. The weight or lightness of work done by workers can be measured through direct measurements of human limbs or physique, among others, heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature, sweat rate, consumption of inhaled oxygen and chemical content in the blood. This study aims to identify the use of semi mechanical weed tools and brush cutter as well as analyze the physical workload experienced by workers. The stages and methods of research are carried out by measuring and testing tools in the field based on technical aspects including theoretical work capacity, effective work, field efficiency, fuel consumption, while ergonomic work aspects by measuring workload and fatigue levels directly on the operator's heart rate. From the measurement and calculation of the Increase Ratio of Heart Rate (IRHR), the lowest workload level was obtained with an index of 1.15 and the highest workload level of 1.51.

Abstract

Sengon buto (Enterolobium cyclocarpum) is a long-lived tree species that grows rapidly, is adaptable to various soil types, and is drought-tolerant, making it suitable for land conservation and rehabilitation. This study aimed to determine the effect of seed soaking duration of E. cyclocarpum in shallot (Allium cepa L.) extract on germination percentage, germination rate, and germination power. The research employed a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with one factor and three treatments (A, B, and C) with 30 replications. The results showed that: (1) there was no significant effect between treatments; (2) germination percentages were: A = 36.66%, B = 40%, C = 13.33%; (3) germination rates were: A = 4.91 (t), B = 5.92 (t), C = 7 (t); (4) germination power: A = 53.33%, B = 73.33%, C = 80%. These results indicate that soaking in A. cepa L. extract did not have a significant effect on the germination parameters of E. cyclocarpum seeds
