Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perilaku pencarian informasi lowongan pekerjaan oleh peserta program kerja di Balai Latihan Kerja Disnakertrans Karawang. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dokumentasi, dan kajian pustaka. Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah lima peserta program kerja di Balai Latihan Kerja Disnakertrans Karawang. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa semua informan mengikuti beberapa tahapan pencarian informasi dan mengungkap beberapa faktor serta hambatan yang dialami oleh para peserta program kerja tersebut.

Abstract

Komunikasi lintas budaya adalah hubungan yang mempertemukan dua atau lebih budaya yang dibawa oleh masing-masing individu dan berinteraksi satu sama lain. Program pertukaran mahasiswa Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) di Middle East Technical University (METU) dalam praktiknya belajar dan berinteraksi dengan mahasiswa internasional dari berbagai latar belakang bangsa dan budaya. Mereka mengalami cara berkomunikasi yang berbeda dalam konteks penggunaan humor. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan teori Manajemen Kecemasan/Ketidakpastian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagai salah satu metode komunikasi, humor digunakan sebagai cara untuk membangun hubungan yang baik dengan tetap mempertimbangkan kehati-hatian dan preferensi mahasiswa internasional untuk mengurangi kecemasan dan ketidakpastian.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out how the communication patterns of the Girls Ride Karawang motorcycle community are. To find out the natural communication patterns of the Girls Ride Karawang motorcycle community. This study uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive type because it is to explain and describe the whole thing which is then changed back into written form regarding the description of the role of librarians in improving the quality of repository services. The subject of this study is the communication patterns of the Girls Ride Karawang motorcycle community which is of course located in Karawang City. The data analysis techniques of this study consist of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the Girls Ride Karawang Community applies two main communication patterns, namely the star communication pattern and the circle communication pattern. The star communication pattern is characterized by the central role of the chairman as the center of information, decision maker, and solidarity driver. The application of these two patterns simultaneously creates a balance between structure and togetherness, where the management continues to carry out coordinating functions, but members still feel they have space to actively participate in the communication and decision-making process. This finding is in line with Emile Durkheim's thoughts on social solidarity, where communication is the foundation for building a sense of togetherness, mutual trust, and collective responsibility. The solidarity of mechanics in this community is formed from shared values, interests (the automotive world), and shared activities (meetings, touring, social services), and is strengthened by intense and open communication.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the communication strategies implemented by teachers towards students with special needs (ABK) at Sekolah Alam Karawang. Effective communication is key in the inclusive learning process, especially when teachers face very diverse student characteristics. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation. By describing the results of the interviews conducted, data analysis techniques were carried out. The communication strategies implemented by teachers towards students with special needs at Sekolah Alam Karawang are factors that are considered. The results of the study indicate that teacher communication strategies include three main aspects: communicator strategies, media strategies, and message delivery strategies. Communicator strategies are carried out through the planning stages, student character recognition, and mentoring by shadow teachers. Media strategies use concrete aids and experience-based activities to stimulate students' sensory. Message delivery strategies are carried out with a one-way instruction approach, repetition, and the use of simple and slow language. Evaluation of this strategy is carried out weekly through weekly reports and plans, and involves stimulus managers and psychologists if serious obstacles are found

Abstract

This study aims to determine the extent of the influence of the characters in the game in spreading a culture and also to determine the effectiveness of spreading a culture through the Game media. The research method used in this study is a quantitative method. The population used in this study was the Genshin Impact Indonesia Official Facebook Group of 350,000. The sampling technique used in this study was purposive sampling using the Slovin formula with a tolerance level of 10%. So that the sample used was 100 respondents. The data analysis technique used was a simple linear regression analysis which aims to find out how much influence the independent variable (X), namely the view of the Yun Jin character, has on the dependent variable (Y) The results of the study show that exposure to the Yun Jin character has a positive influence on the adoption of Peking Opera culture. The content of the cultural message conveyed through the Yun Jin character also has a significant effect on cultural adoption. The appeal of the Yun Jin character, which includes visual, voice, and personality aspects, also contributes greatly to the interest and involvement of players in understanding Peking Opera culture. Simultaneously, the three independent variables—exposure, message content, and appeal—have a significant influence on cultural adoption. The R Square value of 0.720 and the significance value of 0.000 (<0.05) indicate that the three together are able to explain 72% of the variation in the level of adoption of Peking Opera culture by performers.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the duration and frequency of using Instagram social media influence the formation of self-image of communication science students at Singaperbangsa University, Karawang. The theory used is uses and effects by Sven Windahl. The method used is quantitative with probability sampling samples with simple random sampling techniques. The number of respondents used in this study was 187 respondents. The analysis used includes descriptive analysis, normality test, simple linear regression test, coefficient of determination, and t-hypothesis test. The results showed that the use of Instagram social media has a positive influence of 53.3% on the formation of self-image of communication science students at Singaperbangsa University, Karawang, while the remaining 46.5% is influenced by other factors.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine how much influence the exposure of product placement advertisements in the Korean drama Castaway Diva has on the purchase interest of Tropicana Slim followers of account X @kdrama_menfess. This study uses advertising exposure theory. The population of this study was followers of account X @kdrama_menfess with a sample drawing using a purposive sampling approach of 100 respondents. The data results were obtained through a google form link with predetermined criteria. The data analysis methods used in this study were descriptive statistical tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression tests, T tests, F tests, and coefficient of determination tests. This study produced the answer that the intensity and duration of advertising exposure had a significant influence on purchase interest, while the frequency did not have a significant influence and there was a significant influence of exposure to product placement advertisements in the Korean drama Castaway Diva on the purchase interest of Tropicana Slim followers of account X @kdrama_menfess. This is proven by simultaneous testing (F) where the calculated F value is much larger than the F table (20.650>2.698) and the determination coefficient test is 0.373 or 37.3% while the rest is influenced by other variables that were not examined in the study.

Abstract

The Citayam Fashion Week Trend has become a phenomenon that has attracted a lot of attention from people from various circles. Citayam Fashion Week trens spread quickly on social media, one of which is on social media TikTok. TikTok social media is audio-visual media so that the content presented can be seen and heard and can provide a clear picture of the phenomena that are occurring. This research aims to find out whether there is an influence from exposure to the Citayam Fashion Week trend on TikTok social media on students’ perceptions of fashion. The type of research used is quantitative research with an axplanatory survey method. The sample in this research was 105 students of the FISIP Unsika, class of 2022. This research uses and effect theory. The results obtained in this research are that exposure to Citayam Fashion Week trends on TikTok social media has an influence on students’ perceptions of fashion.

Abstract

This study examines the communicative acts in the Sinamot tradition during Toba Batak traditional weddings, particularly within the Silitonga family. The Sinamot tradition, often perceived as merely an economic transaction, is actually a symbolic interaction process imbued with cultural, social, and kinship identity meanings. Using Herbert Blumer's Symbolic Interaction Theory and Dell Hymes's Communication Ethnography Approach (SPEAKING), this study aims to uncover the symbolic meaning and role of Marhata Sinamot and the communication patterns in each stage of the Marhata Sinamot negotiations. The method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the Sinamot event is not only a forum for negotiation, but also a means of forming collective identity and preserving traditional values through the symbols and language used by the communicators. Speech acts in this process reflect the social structure and power relations between the parties involved, as well as being a reflection of the dynamics of Toba Batak culture.
