<![CDATA[RÉSUMÉ. Dans cet article, nous nous proposons de porter un regard sur la question de la nomination dans la littérature francophone, le cas de La Désirante de Malika MOKEDDEM. Le problème tient du fait que l’acte de nommer les personnages est à la fois une activité linguistique, discursive, poétique et culturelle, d’où la nécessité de recourir à l’onomastique, en tant que étude multidisciplinaires. De ce fait, notre étude s’inscrit pleinement dans le sillage de la méthode de l’onomastique d’interprétation des textes littéraires. Elle se veut une continuité des travaux de Michel GRIMAUD sur le sens du nom propre et sa fonction poétique. Le corpus d’étude a été formé par l’ensemble des noms propres désignant les personnages du roman. L’analyse a montré que le nom dans La Désirante a servi d’outil de catégorisation et de justification d’une tendance : celle de la préférence de l’homme occidentalMots-clés : Catégorisation, Nomination, Personnage, Poétique, Roman ABSTRACT. In this article, we propose to look at the issue of nomination in French-language literature, the case of La Désirante by Malika MOKEDDEM. The problem stems from the fact that the act of naming characters is simultaneously a linguistic, discursive, poetic and cultural activity, hence the need to use onomastics as a multidisciplinary study. Therefore, our study is fully in the wake of the method of the onomastic interpretation of literary texts. It is a continuation of Michel GRIMAUD's work on the meaning of the proper name and its poetic function. The corpus of study was formed by the set of proper names designating the characters of the novel.
