Abstract

Kitosan dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan aktif dalam gel pembersih tangan. Kitosan memiliki sifat antibakteri terhadap bakteri Gram positif dan negatif. Gel pembersih tangan dibuat dengan variasi penambahan ekstrak kitosan sebesar 0%, 1%, dan 1,5%. Efektifitas antibakteri gel pembersih tangan kitosan dievaluasi menggunakan metode replika. Masing-masing gel pembersih tangan dibandingkan dengan kontrol positif melalui jumlah koloni bakteri yang terbentuk.Jumlah koloni bakteri yang terbentuk pada formula 1, 2, dan 3 berturut-turut sebesar 4, 2, dan 0, sedangkan koloni yang terbentuk pada kontrol positif sebesar 5. Analisis statistika menggunakan ANOVA onewaymenunjukkan gel pembersih tangan dengan konsentrasi ekstrak kitosan 1,5% (Formula 3) lebih efektif dalam menurunkan jumlah koloni bakteri pada tangan.

Abstract

Hydrogels chitosan-poly-(N-vinyl-pyrrolidone)-alginate (Ch/PVP/Alg) have been synthesized with Ca2+, Zn2+ and formaldehyde as crosslinker. Hydrogels with ratio polymer 70:20:10 give a high swelling ratio and good network. The Ch/PVP/Alg/Ca2+ has 463.73% swelling ratio and 80.59% gel. Ch/PVP/Alg/Zn has 489.21% swelling ratio and 81.67% gel. Ch/PVP/Alg crosslinked with formaldehyde result 488.03% swelling ratio and 85.34% gel. Dissolution test of hydrogels in pH 1.2 releases ibuprofen less than 30%. Whereas in the pH 7.4, the release of ibuprofen by hydrogels are relatively high.  Ch/PVP/Alg/Ca reach up to 34.63% in 30 minutes and 40.86% for Ch/PVP/Alg/Zn. Meanwhile Ch/PVP/Alg/CH2O can release 44.92% of ibuprofen in 30 minutes. The obtained hydrogel was characterized using infrared (FTIR) spectrophotometry, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).

Abstract

Pada penelitian ini telah dilakukan formulasi gel pembersih tangan (hand sanitizer) berbahan dasar alkohol dengan tambahan water kefir sebagai zat antimikrob. Penggunaan konsentrasi water kefir sebesar 1% (formula I), 1,5% (formula II), dan 2% (formula III) telah memberikan efektivitas antibakteri yang baik, dibuktikan dengan jumlah koloni bakteri yang berkurang sebesar 95%-99% setelah penggunaan gel pembersih tangan. Pengujian fisik didapatkan gel berbentuk semi padat, tidak berwarna, berbau khas gel pembersih tangan dan homogen. Derajat keasaman (pH) ketiga formula yaitu 5,76 ± 0,01; 5,69 ± 0,01; dan 5,56 ± 0,02 dengan viskositas 9680 ± 20; 9520 ± 20; dan 9260 ± 20 Cp.

Abstract

Insecticides are substances or chemicals that are used to kill or eradicate insects. One of the active ingredients contained in insecticide products is permethrin. One of the tests carried out was testing the levels of the active ingredient such as permethrin in insecticides. This testing was carried out by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). This method is a new method that will be used for routine analysis testing laboratory at Laboratory. The method that is used refers to the journal Validated High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) Method for Quantifying Permethrin in Pharmaceutical Formulations. Therefore, it is necessary to validate this method regarding elements that can cause variations in the test results and identify factors that can affect the performance of the method and determine the magnitude of the effect. Based on the test results, it can be concluded that all the validation parameters of the testing method for determining the active ingredient permethrin by high performance liquid chromatography gave the results of specificity, linearity, instrument detection limit (LDI), quantitation limit (LQ), repeatability precision, intermediate precision, accuracy, and the rigidity of the method meets the CIPAC 3807 requirements. Keywords: Insecticide, Permethrin, CIPAC 3807 Keywords: Insecticide, Permethrin, CIPAC 3807
