Abstract

Shahih al-Bukhari is a phenomenal book among the many books of matan hadith that have been written, and one form of attention of scholars towards it is to make the book of Sharah. The books of sharah are written by scholars from various madhhabs, one of which was written by Ibn Bathal who is affiliated with the Maliki madzhab. Using the method of library research and through the content analysis approach, this article was written to find out the methodology of writing Sharah Shahih al-Bukhari by Ibn Bathal and reveal the difference with other books of Sharah Shahih al-Bukhari. From this research it can be known that the peculiarities of Ibn Bathal's work are; First, he did not discuss rawi and sanad specifically, but immediately mentioned the name of the friend who became the hadith narration. Second, he explained the matan hadith without discussing ikhtilaf or the difference in matan editor first. Third, in the difference in understanding the disputed matan, especially with regard to the law, it takes more interpretations from the Maliki madzhab.

Abstract

This article presents a comparison of various redactions of the letter of the Prophet Saw. that had been sent to nonmuslim kings. The studies discussed are the result of literature studies and are qualitative. Data on the letters of the Prophet Saw. collected from the book of tarikh, sirah and hadith. Once collected, the data is classified and analyzed descriptively. The results of the discussion concluded that; first, the eight letters that have been sent by the Prophet Saw. its history and editors are listed by many authors of the book of tarikh and sirah. While only a few of the authors of the hadith narrate it, even then with not very complete redactions. Secondly, despite having the same purpose, the letters that the Prophet Saw. once sent were basically written with different models and patterns between each letter.

Abstract

This article examines the influence of differences of rawi stratification on hadith narration, using Ibn Khaldun's stratification theory as outlined in his book entitled Muqaddimah. This study employs library research with a content analysis approach, focusing on hadiths about al-Mahdi narrated through the paths of Abu al-Shiddiq (d. 108 H) and Abu Nadhrah (d. 103 H). The findings reveal that Qatadah, the principal student of Abu al-Shiddiq, did not receive the narration about al-Mahdi from his teacher but rather from Abu Nadhrah. Although the three rawis differ in the number of narrations—Qatadah (12,209 narrations), Abu al-Shiddiq (183 narrations), and Abu Nadhrah (1,181 narrations)—all are considered thiqah (trustworthy narrators). The study concludes that differences of stratification among the three narrators are not the reason why Qatadah did not narrate the al-Mahdi hadith from Abu al-Shiddiq. This research contributes to academic discourse by offering a new perspective on the application of Ibn Khaldun's stratification theory in the study of hadith narration. It also highlights that the number of narrations and stratification positions do not always determine specific narration paths. Future research is recommended to expand the scope of analysis to other rawis using a similar approach to gain deeper insights into the relationship between rawi stratification and hadith narration.

Abstract

This article examines the religious dynamics of minority Muslim communities in East Amanuban District, South Central Timor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. Despite living in a predominantly Protestant Christian community, the region's Muslim community is able to maintain its religious identity while contributing to the local social and cultural diversity. This study aims to: (1) outline the history of the entry of Islam in East Amanuban, (2) identify the strengths and weaknesses of the Muslim community, and (3) analyze the patterns of their social interaction with the non-Muslim majority community. Using a qualitative descriptive approach through field observations, interviews, and document studies, the study found that the main strength of the Muslim community lies in the relatively large number of mosques and the commitment of the community in preserving the teachings of Islam. The challenges faced include limited human resources, inadequate religious facilities, and the influence of local customs that sometimes contradict Islamic practices. On the other hand, the value of tolerance, social solidarity, and local cultural wisdom is an important capital for the sustainability of their Islamic identity. The results of this study emphasized the importance of strengthening religious institutions and cross-community cooperation to strengthen religious harmony in multicultural areas such as East Amandaban. Keywords: East Amanuban, interfaith tolerance, Muslimminority, religiosity, social dynamics

Abstract

This research analyses the collaborative da'wah model by the Islamic Unity Youth (Pemuda Persis) in Bantarpanjang Village, Nusakambangan Island, Central Java. This article focuses on three problems: the objective conditions of the Bantarpanjang community, the da'wah problems faced, and the model of da'wah carried out by the Islamic Unity Youth preachers. Data was obtained through document analysis, interviews, discussions and direct observation in the field. The research results show that, first, Bantarpanjang Village is very remote in location; there is no infrastructure to support social activities, and the road to the location is quite an obstacle; second, the level of Islamic understanding of Bantarpanjang residents is still low and most of the residents are still illiterate in reading and writing the Koran; third, Islamic Unity Youth (Pemuda Persis) preachers carry out da'wah in the form of regular weekly guidance and collaborate with other parties in carrying out social services.
