Abstract

Researchers find that teacher plays dominant role in managing the teacher- students interaction, the important aspect affecting the language acquisition process in young learners’ class. Hence, to make sure that the teacher-students interaction goes well for achieving the classroom goals, how the teacher manages the interaction should be investigated further. As beliefs can affect how people act, this research aims to investigate the teachers’ belief on teacher-students interaction in young learners’ English class. This is a qualitative research using direct observation in two English classes at two different Elementary schools and in-depth interview with two English teachers as the data collecting techniques. The data revealed that the teachers’ beliefs affecting how the teacher-students interaction goes consist of beliefs about goals, process, and source of teacher- students interaction. Overall, the interactions were done toachieve two goals namely promoting language acquisition and controlling learning atmosphere. The source of interaction namely teacher talk was adjusted to young learners’ characteristics to make the process of learning meaningful. This finding gives conceptual insight about how the system of teacher-students interaction in English learning process in Elementary schools works. Then, it may be beneficial for the teachers as a means supporting self- reflection, schools’ evaluation and also for the educational practitioners who want to investigate the TSs interaction in more details.

Abstract

Kelurahan Giripurwo is a cultural village that has abundant cultural wealth. There is a potential culture brought by the government to add to the cultural richness of the Giripurwo Village called shibori cloth. The use of shibori cloth can be one of the cultural potentials that can be maximized by Giripurwo villagers to add cultural and economic value to this village. To explore the function of shibori cloth as a cultural and economic potential that can positively contribute to the Giripurwo Village, online observations are made by conducting literature studies through websites, books, journals, articles, and other sources relevant to the development of the potential of shibori cloth as a cultural asset. The techniques of making shibori can be categorized into 6 different techniques, namely, Kanoko, Miura, Arashi, Itajime, Kumo, and Nui. Different techniques will produce different variations. This variation can be a positive thing because, in its later economic function, consumers are not limited by a limited choice of products. The use of the online marketplace also plays an important role in maximizing the economic function that can be achieved from the shibori cloth products produced by the people of Giripurwo Village.

Abstract

Girijati is a village located in Purwosari, Gunungkidul, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. There are lots of potential resources in Girijati, such as their nature, human resource, and also tourist attractions. Some of the tourist attractions in Girijati are Parangendog Beach, Gembirowati Temple, Sendang Beji, etc. In fact, the development of these tourist attractions requires high human resources quality too, for example, the demand of tour guide. It would be beneficial for Girijati village, if they develop the tourist attractions by making a tourist package from their potentials, such as the tourist attractions in Girijati. There are 3 segmentations for the packages, based on the demographic, psychographic, and the beneficial. The tourist packages were also segmented by the duration of the tour, the purpose, the tour by interest, and the offered facilities. A tour guide needs to guide the tourist and also to gives the right information related to the attraction that will be visited. Some important things that should be considered as a tour guide are the code of ethics, good communication skill with tourists, body language, and knowledge about the attraction.

Abstract

Giriasih Village is a village located in Purwosari sub- district, Gunungkidul Regency, DI Yogyakarta. Giriasih Village has a lot of village potential, but among the many potential villages it has, Embung Bem-bem tourism object. It is the object has natural beauty and high prospects for progress with good management. Giriasih Village, which is rich in natural potential, is still unable to manage the natural wealth of the village's potential so that proposals will be made in management. Apart from being rich in tourism village potential, Giriasih village is also a village where the majority of the villagers work as cassava farmers. However, with the existing limitations, people are only able to sell cassava as raw material. This is what human empowerment should then be done to improve the economy from the growth in the selling value of cassava which is not only sold as raw goods but also as finished goods.

Abstract

Giritirto Village is a region that has many potentials especially in natural resources. One of the potentials from Giritirto Village is Tlogo Ploso with its various benefits. Besides as an irrigation sources, Tlogo Ploso has many potentials to develop. Another potential from Giritirto Village is their plantation products, especially tobacco plantations. Tobacco becomes one of the sources that can increase the public’s economy because it can be processed into several products. Besides being able to processed into cigarette, tobacco can also be processed into natural pepticides. It is expected that an exploration through literature study can be done in Giritirto potentials from the Tlogo Ploso and also creating alternatives for making products from tobacco as an raw material for making natural pepticide, so that can increase the quality of selling value and also ensure the economic condition of the people at the Giritirto Village so their economic condition can be better.

Abstract

Teaching Business English extends beyond mastering vocabulary and grammar; it equips learners with the skills to communicate effectively in professional environ-ments. In busines world, soft skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and negotiation are equally important as linguistic proficiency. This articleexamines effective methodologies for integrating soft skills into Business Englishteaching by reviewing relevant literature and case studies published between 2019and 2024. The findings highlight the urgency of incorporating soft skills into thecurriculum to enhance learners’ ability to navigate real-world business contexts.Several practical methodologies, such as project-based learning, role-playing, andcase study analysis, are recommended to support this integration. This discussionprovides valuable insights for curriculum designers, educators, and learners, help-ing them optimize their roles in fostering comprehensive Business English educa-tion.

Abstract

Curriculum Vitae (CV) is an essential document used to showcase personal competence in written form. To make sure that competence is articulated correctly in a written format, students should be aware of their accuracy as it reflects their professionalism. Thus, this study aims to investigate the common grammatical errors found in CVs. Quantitative research was chosen. 34 random Business Economics students’ CV documents with a complete format were analyzed using a grammar checker tool named Grammarly. The result reveals that there were 221 grammatical errors found in the students’ CVs consisting of errors in lexis (34.56%), syntax (28.82%), discourse (23.53%), and morphology (16.67%). This finding highlights the students’ struggle to articulate their competence in a well-written document. Furthermore, this may be a reflection for students and teachers to attain better students writing in the future and for researchers to investigate more on grammar errors in the context of English for Foreign Learners and curriculum development of professional writing.
