Abstract

People who want to enter a country must have their legitimacy and legalization checked because it will have a very wide impact on that country, therefore the immigration as the front guard given the immigration authority by the country is important to screen them. One form of immigration control which includes checking the validity of travel documents and supervision of foreigners entering the territory of a destination country. Indonesia has become a competitive country as published by the Swiss-based research institute, IMD World Competitiveness Center in 2019, rising 11 places from 43 to 32. Important indicators such as efficiency, economic performance, business and infrastructure. Based on the results of this research, Indonesia has gained great strength in international competitiveness. With immigration control, it will have a long impact on the progress of a nation. Based on the statement above, it can be concluded that the formulation of the problem is how the immigration efforts in immigration control towards Indonesia's national development. The research method for compiling this journal is the normative-empirical method. The Indonesian immigration authoritie s must coordinate with other agencies for the progress of Indonesia, urge the Indonesian people to comply with applicable state regulations so that they can run well, and carry out good internal control of those who implement and regulate them.

Abstract

The existence of refugees who come from various countries is an international phenomenon whose presence cannot be avoided by countries in the world. Indonesia as a country that is not a party to the Geneva Convention 1951 on Refugees has also experienced the impact of the presence of refugees in the territory of Indonesia. The handling of refugees in Indonesia is carried out by collaborating between the Government of Indonesia and international organizations such as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and with the International Organization for Migration. This study aims 1) Knowing about the handling of refugees in Indonesia in terms of the prevailing laws and regulations in Indonesia 2) Knowing the active role played by the Government of Indonesia with international organizations, especially UNHCR and IOM in terms of handling refugees originating from outside the territory of Indonesia. This research was conducted using a qualitative - descriptive method to provide an overview of the handling of refugees in Indonesia by the Government of Indonesia. Hasil penelitian ini dituangkan dalam bentuk kesimpulan yang mana berfokus pada pelaksanaan penanganan pengungsi di Indonesia yang telah dilakukan guna menegakkan nilai- nilai yang berkaitan dengan hak asasi manusia.
