Abstract

Seaweed is one of Indonesia's top marine and fishery commodities, with a significant amount of untapped potential. Despite the fact that seaweed is currently a highly valuable commodity, this potential has not been fully realized. The state of Indonesia's seaweed exports is prone to fluctuations, so it's critical to monitor these issues in order to identify the factors that drive increases and decreases in the amount of seaweed exported from Indonesia to destination nations. The purpose of this study is to examine the factors that simultaneously affect the amount of Indonesian seaweed exported to the major destination nations in 2012–2022, including population size, GDP per capita, inflation, and currency rates.

Abstract

Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) is one of the indicators to determine the economic growth of a region. The GRDP value will be an indicator of the region's ability to manage and utilize existing resources. In the Regency/City in Bali Province, there is still inequality in GRDP growth which indicates weaknesses in the management of existing resources. Based on this phenomenon, the objectives of this study are (1) To analyze the direct influence of the number of tourist visits and education levels on labor absorption in the Regency/City of Bali Province. (2) To analyze the influence of the number of tourist visits, education levels, and labor absorption on GRDP growth in the Regency/City of Bali Province. (3) To analyze the direct influence of the number of tourist visits and education levels on GRDP growth indirectly through labor absorption in the Regency/City of Bali Province. The data used in the study are secondary data with a total of 144 observations using panel data, while the analysis technique used is path analysis to analyze the direct and indirect influences of each variable. Based on the results of the study, it shows that (1) The number of tourist visits and education levels have a positive and significant effect on labor absorption in the Regency/City of Bali Province. (2) The number of tourist visits has a positive and significant effect on GRDP growth, the level of education has a negative and significant effect on GRDP growth, labor absorption has a negative but not significant effect on GRDP growth in the Regency/City of Bali Province. (3) Labor absorption does not mediate the influence of the number of tourist visits and education level on GRDP growth in the Regency/City of Bali Province.

Abstract

International trade is the activity of buying and selling goods or services carried out by one country to another country in order to meet the needs in that country. The non-oil and gas export commodity in Indonesia that is currently developing, especially in the livestock sector, is the export of Indonesian swallow's nests. Problems related to the state of Indonesia's export volume tend to fluctuate, this is very important to note in order to determine the determinants that influence the increase and decrease in the volume of Indonesian swallow's nest exports to the destination country. This study aims to analyze the simultaneous and partial effects of inflation in the main destination countries for Indonesian swallow's nest exports, Gross Domestic Product in the main destination countries for Indonesian swallow's nest exports, and the USD exchange rate on the volume of Indonesian swallow's nest exports to the main destination countries. The data used is secondary data from 2012-2023 in the four main destination countries of Hong Kong, Canada, Thailand, and Singapore. The data analysis technique used in this study is panel data regression with the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) regression model. The results of the study found that inflation, GDP, and the USD exchange rate simultaneously have a significant effect on the volume of Indonesian swallow's nest exports to the main destination countries. Partially, inflation has a negative and significant effect on the volume of Indonesian swallow nest exports, while the GDP and USD exchange rates have a positive but insignificant effect on the volume of Indonesian swallow nest exports to the main destination countries. Based on the results of the study, it is expected that Indonesian swallow nest producers can produce products that suit consumer tastes in order to increase the volume of Indonesian swallow nest exports to the main destination countries.

Abstract

A country's economic well-being can be assessed through its economic development. Economic development in a specific region can be measured by its economic growth. In this study, economic growth is indicated by the influence of Regional Own-Source Revenue (PAD), capital expenditure, and the Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK). This research aims to determine (1) the simultaneous and partial effects of PAD, capital expenditure, and TPAK on economic growth, and (2) the dominant variable influencing economic growth. The data used in this study consists of secondary time series data from 2018 to 2023 across nine regencies/cities in Bali Province. Data analysis was conducted using panel data regression with the assistance of the Eviews 12 software. The results show that PAD, capital expenditure, and TPAK collectively influence economic growth in the nine regencies/cities in Bali Province during 2018–2023. PAD and capital expenditure have a positive and significant effect on economic growth in these areas. Meanwhile, TPAK also has a positive but statistically insignificant effect on economic growth. PAD is identified as the dominant variable influencing economic growth in the nine regencies/cities in Bali Province during 2018–2023. This study implies that local governments need to strengthen strategies to increase PAD through revenue innovations, strategically manage capital expenditure to promote key sectors such as tourism and MSMEs, and enhance the quality and productivity of the workforce to support more inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

Abstract

Tobacco is one of the leading commodities in the agricultural sector. In the Indonesian agricultural sector, tobacco has been widely exported to various countries. Of the several tobacco export destination countries, Cambodia dominates the Indonesian tobacco export market. Problems related to fluctuations in Indonesia's export volume need serious attention, because this is important to understand the factors that influence the increase and decrease in the volume of Indonesian tobacco exports to Cambodia. Based on the description, the objectives of this study are (1) To analyze the influence of production volume, inflation, and the dollar exchange rate simultaneously on the volume of Indonesian tobacco exports to Cambodia, (2) To analyze the partial influence of production volume, inflation, and the dollar exchange rate on the volume of Indonesian tobacco exports to Cambodia. The data used in this study are secondary data with a total of 32 observations (years), using the multiple linear regression method. This study found that (1) Simultaneously, production volume, inflation, and the dollar exchange rate significantly affect the volume of Indonesian tobacco exports to Cambodia, and (2) Partially, production volume, inflation, and the dollar exchange rate have a positive and significant effect on the volume of Indonesian tobacco exports to Cambodia. Based on the results of the study, it is hoped that the government can pay attention to the causes of fluctuations in the volume of Indonesian tobacco exports.

Abstract

According to BPS (2023), the increasing global demand for crumb rubber presents an opportunity for Indonesia as one of the world's leading rubber producers. Therefore, analyzing the factors affecting crumb rubber export volume is crucial. This study aims to identify and analyze the effects of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Indonesia's main crumb rubber export destinations, inflation in these destination countries, and the US dollar exchange rate, both partially and simultaneously, on Indonesia’s crumb rubber export volume. The primary export destination countries examined in this study are Japan, China, India, South Korea, and Brazil. This research employs a quantitative descriptive analysis technique using secondary time-series data from 2013 to 2023. The study applies multiple linear regression analysis based on the Generalized Least Squares (GLS) method. The results indicate that GDP, inflation, and the US dollar exchange rate have a significant simultaneous impact on Indonesia’s crumb rubber export volume to its main destination countries. Partially, inflation has a significant negative effect, whereas GDP and the US dollar exchange rate have a significant positive impact on the export volume. Based on these findings, the authors recommend that the government and exporters pay close attention to per capita GDP and the USD exchange rate.
