Abstract

Since the passage of Law No. 21 of 2008 on Islamic banking, the development of Islamic banks in Indonesia has grown significantly. Converting conventional banks to Islamic banks is one of the strategies supported to increase the accessibility of Islamic banking. Therefore, this study explores the opportunities and challenges faced by Islamic Rural Bank (BPRS) Rizky Barokah after its conversion. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach collecting data through observation, interviews, documentation and literature reviews. The results of the research show that BPRS Rizky Barokah’s conversion offers opportunities that support the bank’s developmet, such as an increased customer improved financial stability, enhanced reputation, greater operational efficiency and the creation of unique sharia-compliant products. However, challenges include low Islamic financial literacy, product innovation to meet customer demands, customer retention, limited expertise in Islamic finance that does not meet market expectations and ensuring sharia compliance in all operations. Despite these challenges, BPRS Rizky Barokah has implemented effective strategies to address them and optimize the benefits of conversion.

Abstract

This research investigates the impact of financial literacy, religiosity, and brand image on the millennial generation's desire to use Islamic insurance in South Jakarta. This research employs a quantitative methodology via a survey instrument, with 100 participants chosen via purposive selection. Surveys gathered data, which SPSS software analysed using multiple linear regression. The study findings indicate that financial literacy, religiosity, and brand image greatly affect the millennial generation's interest in using Islamic insurance, contributing 53% to this desire. This effect arises when financial literacy improves comprehension of the product, religiosity fosters the alignment of financial choices with spiritual beliefs, and brand image cultivates confidence in service providers. Conversely, the other 47% is shaped by external variables like economic circumstances, cultural influences, individual motivation, and product accessibility, which impact consumer choices. This research suggests that we should enhance digital financial literacy, strengthen brand image, and include Islamic principles in services to increase millennial interest in Islamic insurance.

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to examine the role of Cash Waqf Linked Sukuk (CWLS) as an innovative financing for building educational infrastructure in Indonesia. The fact that educational infrastructure and facilities are still scarce in educational buildings is the driving force for this research. The research based on a qualitative methodology using the data from scientific journals and paper in the field of Cash Waqf, including CWLS. CWLS shall consists of 3 instruments, namely waqf sukuk, government retail waqf sukuk and Waqf project. Currently the coupons from waqf sukuk have been channeled to finance the construction of the retina center and glaucoma center at the hospital. The country needs to explore the use of cash waqf from CWLS for other programs such as building educational infrastructure by involving Islamic bank to finance the program, that might benefit citizens more in the future. This study demonstrates that it is feasible to use the financing raised by the CWLS to construct infrastructure and educational facilities that will improve student and teacher/lecturer performance.
