Abstract

The research with the title Making Video Tutorials for Application of Graphic Art Techniques in Creating Artwork for Elementary School Children During the Covid 19 Pandemic is intended as a response to the situation and conditions in Indonesia which is experiencing the Covid 19 pandemic. To stop the potential spread of Covid 19, the government makes a policy teaching and learning activities are diverted at home. Through this research, the authors want to contribute by making video tutorials on the application of various techniques in graphic arts in the creation of works for elementary school children that can be practiced at home. Graphic art has a wealth of techniques that can be applied in the creation of works for elementary school children. In this study, the authors will focus on relief techniques and stencil techniques. Selected video tutorials for creators as media to be easy to understand, practical, interactive and in line with government regulations during the Covid 19 pandemic to carry out social restrictions and physical distancing. With video tutorials, creators can share the technique of creating this work with more people using social media (via youtube or whatsapp). The artist hopes that with art activities, children can be more comfortable and at home with activities at home because in the activity of creating works of art there are aspects to express pent-up feelings and thoughts. Through art activities, children can communicate what is in their minds and the world around them. Art is believed to have a cathartic function so that it can release tension and pressure while studying at home during the Covid 19 pandemic.Keywords: covid 19 pandemic, graphic art techniques, elementary school children, video tutorials

Abstract

In the legend of Noah's Ark, God punished one whole generation of Noah who were wicked and defying God by sending a natural disaster in the form of the Great Flood, destroying the nature. Noah was commanded to build an ark (medium) to save himself, his family, and his followers, also all kind of animals in pairs; to save a generation of life that later will create a new civilization and culture in a new area or location. The legend of Noah's Ark can be found in almost every holy book of divine religions where the story conveys the message of a life-cycle and how we learn about the meaning of life.Associating the story with our current lives, Noah's Ark has two concepts of interpretation; in the context of salvation and at the same time as a mediation space of the birth of a new culture. How human save themselves from their worldly problems, and at the same time a mediation space, a shifting space from the old culture into the new culture. These two concepts of Noah's Ark are the background and the base this creation for the writer. Keywords : Spirit of Noah, graphic art, hermeneutika.

Abstract

Graphic art as a branch of fine art has advantages compared to other types of art. Graphic art or print art is art that makes it possible to reproduce an unlimited number of works. In the process of its creation Graphic art is familiar with a variety of techniques, namely high print techniques, screen printing techniques, flat printing and deep printing. To produce graphic arts, supporting materials such as tools and materials related to chemicals are needed. These chemicals in long-term use will endanger health. For this reason, the authors look for alternatives to the use of techniques for creating graphic art using carbon printing techniques. The research, entitled Exploration of Carbon Paper as an Alternative to Printing Ink in Graphic Art, seeks to find techniques that are safe, affordable, simple but can produce artistic graphic arts. Carbon printing technique uses carbon paper as the main material that is easily obtained, affordable and relatively safe for use by all people. Using carbon printing techniques also allows for the exploration of ideas and more diverse ideas involving ready made objects that are around the house. This carbon printing technique will be applied in the process of creating graphic arts with a focus on ideas about the relationship between mother and child. The outputs of this research are exhibitions, journals, and tutorials on the application of carbon printing techniques to the creation of graphic artwork. AbstrakSeni grafis sebagai cabang dari seni rupa mempunyai kelebihan dibandingkan jenis seni yang lain. Seni grafis atau seni cetak adalah seni yang memungkinkan untuk mereproduksi karya dalam jumlah yang tak terbatas. Pada proses penciptaannya Seni grafis mengenal beragam teknik, yaitu teknik cetak tinggi, teknik cetak saring, cetak datar dan cetak dalam. Untuk menghasilkan karya Seni grafis dibutuhkan material pendukung berupa alat dan bahan yang berhubungan dengan zat-zat kimia. Zat-zat kimia tersebut pada penggunaan jangka panjang akan membahayakan kesehatan. Untuk itu, penulis mencari alternatif penggunaan teknik penciptaan karya seni grafis dengan menggunakan teknik cetak karbon. Penelitian dengan judul Ekplorasi Kertas Karbon sebagai Alternatif Pengganti Tinta Cetak dalam Karya Seni Grafis ini berupaya mencari teknik yang aman, terjangkau, sederhana tetapi bisa menghasilkan karya seni grafis yang artistik. Teknik cetak karbon menggunakan bahan utama kertas karbon yang mudah diperoleh, harga terjangkau dan relatif aman untuk digunakan oleh semua kalangan. Dengan menggunakan teknik cetak karbon juga memungkinkan untuk eksplorasi ide dan gagasan yang lebih beragam melibatkan benda-benda ready made yang ada di sekitar rumah. Teknik cetak karbon ini akan diaplikasikan dalam proses penciptaan seni grafis dengan fokus gagasan mengenai hubungan ibu dan anak. Hasil luaran dari penelitian ini berupa pameran, jurnal, dan tutorial aplikasi teknik cetak karbon pada penciptaan karya seni grafis.
