Abstract

This research aims to examine aspects of human capital that influence the performance of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Drawing on an extensive review of literature from indexed journal databases, the study focused on identifying key factors related to "human capital" and "MSME performance." The comprehensive exploration revealed a multifaceted relationship between human capital aspects and MSME performance, unveiling pivotal influencers. The identified aspects of human capital found to exert a substantial influence on MSME performance encompass a wide spectrum. These include skills and competencies, education and training, employee motivation and engagement, employee health and welfare, innovation and creativity, communication and collaboration, digital skills, work ethics and organizational values, entrepreneurship and sense of ownership, as well as organizational diversity. This research contributes valuable insights for policymakers aiming to enhance the human capital capabilities of MSME entrepreneurs. By addressing these specific dimensions, policymakers can formulate targeted strategies to uplift the human capital landscape within MSMEs. Consequently, this targeted approach is anticipated to render MSMEs more productive, sustainable, and equipped to venture into international markets.

Abstract

This research explores the relationship between Indonesia's economic growth and school participation rates. Using the ARDL model and Bounds test cointegration method, the study examines this relationship and finds that investing more in education, particularly at higher levels, can contribute to long-term economic growth. The study emphasizes the role of education in shaping human resources and promoting sustainable economic development. It suggests that increased investment in education can create a stronger pool of skilled workers, leading to economic growth. The research also reveals a temporary increase in employment as a result of education-driven growth, contributing to the sustainable development of human resources. The study highlights the importance of education funding in nurturing human capital and advocates for policy interventions that prioritize education as a driver of Indonesia's long-term development goals. Overall, this study emphasizes the transformative potential of investing in human capital for Indonesia's economy. Abstract

One of the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on Indonesian migrant workers is the decline in income of Indonesian Migrant Workers (IMW). This impact varies quite widely between groups of migrant workers when viewed from socio-economic characteristics which include worker categories, business fields, employment sectors, changes in working hours, education level and gender. This research aims to analyze the probability of a decrease in income during Covid-19 experienced by migrant workers based on socio-economic characteristics. The unit of analysis in this research is 109 individuals identified as IMW in the National Labor Force Survey data for the period August 2020. The results of research using probit regression analysis show that migrant workers who have a high probability of experiencing a decrease in income are blue-collar workers, workers in tertiary business fields, workers in the informal sector, workers with reduced working hours, workers with an education level below high school/vocational school/equivalent. However, in this study no significant results were found regarding differences in income based on gender.
