Abstract

Cardiac arrest is a critical condition that can be life-threatening where the condition of cardiac output is unable to meet the needs of oxygen to the brain and other vital organs suddenly and can return to normal if appropriate action is taken, BANTUSAR with AHA 2020 Guideline is one of the basic training for the skills of health workers in dealing with emergency problems due to trauma and cardiovascular disorders. Handling these problems is intended to provide basic life support so as to save lives and minimise organ damage and disability of sufferers. This research method uses Quasi Experiment Pre-Post Test Design. This research was conducted at Lukas General Hospital Bangkalan Madura, research data collection was carried out on 21 September 2024 with Total Sampling. Respondents in this study were all health workers at Lukas General Hospital Bangkalan, totalling 65 respondents. In the research process, researchers conducted a pre-test on the ability of health workers' skills in BANTUSAR using an observation sheet, then continued by providing an understanding of the latest BANTUSAR through training, and ended with a post-test. The collected data was then analysed using SPSS-10 with the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test statistical test. The results of the Wilcoxone signed rank test statistical test showed a significance value / Sig. (2-tailed) ρ-value of 0.000 < α 0.05 with a Z value (-7.278), it can be concluded that H0 is rejected, which means that there is an influence between BANTUSAR and the AHA 2020 Guideline on the skills of health workers. By providing BANTUSAR training at Lukas Hospital Bangkalan Madura, it can improve the skills of health workers which is expected to be in line with patient satisfaction.

Abstract

Abstract

DIII Nursing Study Programme students as prospective nurses must have good knowledge and skills in performing Basic Trauma Cardiac Life Support (BTCLS) actions, this is very important because BTCLS actions are carried out to help victims with cardiac arrest both at the hospital and outside the hospital. This study aims to determine the description of the evaluation of the value of knowledge and skills of BTCLS by students when attending training and post-training duration. The research method used was descriptive. Instruments with questionnaires to assess knowledge and observation sheets to see the value of skills. The sample in this study consisted of 58 respondents who were taken in each batch, namely batches 2021, 2022 and 2023. The results of this study were obtained from the evaluation of the value of BTCLS knowledge and skills which increased after training. The existence of a significant effect on the difference in treatment given to each variable is indicated by a sign ificance value of 0.042 < 0.005 in the 2021 results, and a significant value of 0.000 < 0.005 in 2022, while in 2023 the significant results show 0.000 < 0.005. Based on the results it can be concluded that there is an increase in knowledge and BLS skills. This study shows that the BTCLS training that has been carried out affective has a significant impact on participants.

Abstract

People with DM (diabetics) will generally experience obesity as a manifestation of metabolic changes in insulin and leptin hormones. The high variation in body weight and height and the many problems of controlling blood sugar levels in people with diabetes mellitus, researchers want to identify the relationship between Body Mass Index and HbA1c in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Patients at Bangil Hospital. This study uses correlation analytics with a cross-sectional approach to determine the relationship between body mass index and HbA1c levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at Bangil Hospital using consecutive non-random sampling techniques totalling 80 respondents. Data collection was carried out by means of laboratory examinations to see HbA1c data and blood glucose levels, while data regarding the patient's Body Mass Index (BMI) was taken by measuring body weight and height. The results of bivariate analysis conducted with the Chi-Square test approach showed that there was a significant relationship between body mass index and HbA1c (p-value = 0.000; α < 0.05). HbA1c is the gold standard for assessing blood glucose homeostasis. HbA1c is a single accurate test to assess long-term glycaemic status and is useful in all types of DM. One of the efforts that can be done to reduce blood glucose levels is by achieving good nutritional status through BMI.
