Abstract

This study aims to analyze profile of students' scientific literacy in immune system material seen by aspects of competence (science process), content (knowledge), and context (application) through problem-based learning (PBL). This study used an experimental method, namely one shot case study design. The population used in this study is class XI SMAN 1 Palimanan with a research sample of class XI MIPA 1,2,3,6 amount of 134 students. Instrument used a reasoning multiple choice test sheet to measure students' scientific literacy profiles and interview sheet to add data the results of the scientific literacy test. Sub-material used the concept of immune system material and its application. The results showed that contained on 4 students (2.99%) in very high category of scientific literacy, 22 students in high category (16.42%), 63 students in medium category (47.01%), 18 students in low category ( 13.44%) and 27 students in very low category (20.14%). Indicators explaining scientific phenomena can be achieved well with the number of students 45 and the proportion of achievement is 33.58%; scientific scientific survey can be achieved well with the number of students 53 and the proportion of achievement is 39.55% .; interpret data and scientific evidence well with the number of students 49 and the proportion of achievement is 36.57%. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that students' scientific literacy is in the medium group.

Abstract

This research was aimed to develop guided inquiry-based students’ worksheet in cell materials forstudents in senior high school. It has the characteristics of valid, readable, and executable. This researchwas a Research and Development (R&D) type. The validity of worksheet was valued by validator andanalyzed using percentage description. The readability of worksheets can be obtained by small scaled tryout to 20 students taken by using purposive random sampling. The executability of worksheets wasobtained by bigger scale try out to 32 students. The result of the research showed that the guided inquirybasedstudents’ worksheets had characteristics of: 1) cell titled worksheets with its observation; 2) theactivities based on syntax model of guided inquiry learning; 3) the material is related to real example; 4)the illustration picture in worksheets was real and 5) the display of worksheet in full color. The averagepercentage of validity to the worksheet was 83.06%. The percentage score of the worksheet was 85.31%with executability of 93.18%. Based on the results, it can be concluded that this worksheet has severalcharacteristics and valid category to be used. It also had good readability and executability to thestudents.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan literasi sains dan pemahaman konsep siswa serta mengukur besarnya pengaruh literasi sains terhadap pemahaman konsep pada materi sistem pertahanan tubuh melalui PBL. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen yaitu non-equivalent pretest-posstest control group design. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI MIPA 1,2,3,6 berjumlah 134 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI MIPA 4,5,7 berjumlah 102 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol. Sebelum digunakan dalam penelitian, soal-soal instrumen test diujicobakan pada siswa dan diuji validitas, reliabilitas, tingkat kesukaran dan daya pembeda. Data dianalisis dengan Uji N-gain, uji prsyarat dan uji hipotesis. Uji N-gain digunakan untuk mengetahui peningkatan nilai pretest dan posstest literasi sains dan pemahaman konsep, uji prasyarat meliputi uji normalitas dan homogenitas bertujuan untuk mengetahui homogenitas dan normalitas distribusi nilai pretest dan posstest. Uji hipotesis menggunakan independent sample T test dan uji mann whitney U pada data posstest literasi sains dan pemahaman konsep siswa kelas eksperimen dan kontrol. Uji determinasi (regresi sederhana) menggunakan nilai posstest literasi sains dan pemahaman konsep untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh literasi sains terhadap pemahaman konsep. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan yang signifikan literasi sains dan pemahaman konsep siswa pada pembelajaran PBL (kelas eksperimen) dengan pembelajaran ceramah dan diskusi (kelas kontrol) serta literasi sains memberi pengaruh 12,4% terhadap pemahaman konsep siswa.
