The Effectiveness of Using Questions Technique to Improve Students’ Writing of Recount Text Maria Osmunda Eawea Monny

Writing as a productive skill is considered a difficult skill to be mastered because not every student has better English proficiency which somehow has become an obstacle for them to construct better grammatical text. This research aims to improve the writing skills of recount text of students of Class CA of STMIK STIKOM Indonesia. The approach of this research is Class Action Research (CAR). The data collected are observation, interviews literary research, and tests. The results of this research showed that the implementation of Questions Guiding Techniques (QFT) was conducted successfully which can be seen through the results of cycle I and the progress made by students in cycle II. The results of cycle I (pre-test) and cycle II (post-test) were examined using an assessment rubric of writing text skills of recount text which consists of 5 aspects those are content, organization, structure, vocabulary, and mechanics with the score 4-3-2-1 (best-better-poor-poorer). The results of the cycle I (4-1) are 17-19-32-52. The result of cycle II shows that there is improvement in students understanding of grammar and writing skill on the recount text because score 4-3 is increased (36 – 95) and 2-1 is decreased (86 – 25) which shows better writing skills of the students.

This study aims to analyze the translation of adverbs of manner and its’ translation techniques of adverb of manner from Indonesian as the source language to English as the target language. Adverbs are words that modify verbs, adjectives, and other adverbs, and in English, they mostly come in the form of -ly. The theory used in this study is the theory of Brown and Miller (1992). It is a descriptive qualitative study that takes data from the novel Edensor. The data is collected and analyzed based on its form, for example, from verbs, adjectives, or adverbs. The results of this study show that out of 75 data, there were 35 data from adjectives, 19 data from adverbs, 17 data from reduplications, and 2 data from verbs. The translation word categories used were (1) adjective in Indonesia to be adverb -ly, (2) reduplication in Indonesia to be adverb -ly, and (3) adverbs in Indonesia to be adverb -ly. Furthermore, the translation techniques were transposition, modulation, and literal.

Perkembangan teknologi industri 4.0 yang berdampak pada disrupsi teknologi pada berbagai bidang, contohnya bidang pendidikan. Dengan memahami literasi digital tentang implementasi teknologi informasi dan komunikasi dalam bidang pendidikan tentunya teknologi dapat menjadi pendukung utama dalam proses pembelajaran di sekolah khususnya pada SDN 6 Desa Pecatu. Siswa telah mendapatkan fasilitas untuk pembelajaran teknologi informasi dan komunikasi khususnya komputer dasar. Namun belum dimaksimalkan dikarenakan kemampuan dan kecakapan siswa dalam menggunakan aplikasi masih sangat kurang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi kepada guru dan siswa dalam mengetahui aplikasi pendukung proses pembelajaran yaitu Microsoft office word. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan responden 15 siswa kelas V dan VI SD N 6 Desa pecatu. Hasil penelitian dengan menerapkan tahapan implementasi TIK pada bidang pendidikan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman dan kecakapan siswa dalam penggunakan teknologi serta peningkatan wawasan terhadap literasi digital.

Bahasa Inggris merupakan bahasa international yang di gunakan diseluruh negara- negara di dunia. Di Indonesia bahasa inggris digunakan sebagai bahasa kedua setelah bahasa Indonesia,sehubungan hal tersebut maka timbullah kesulitan-kesulitan yang dihadapi dalam mempelajari Bahasa inggris baik dalam mendengar,membaca,menulis dan berbicara Bahasa inggris. Kesulitan tersebut bisa dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor seperti kosakata,intonasi,tata bahasa dan lain-lain.sehubungan hal tersebut dicoba untuk mencari masalahnya sehingga kesulitan dalam belajar bahasa inggris dapt diatasi,dukungan teman motivasi dan pengajar Bahasa Inggris sangat berpengaruh terhadap pembelajaran bahasa inggris untuk itu perlu pembelajaran yang lebih fokus dalam menghadapi tantangan Bahasa Inggris kedepannya.
