Abstract

The objectives of this research aims to examine the effect of corporate fundamental financial ratios on stock prices and to examine whether firm age determine stock prices in the perspective of signaling theory. Here Generalized Least Squares (GLS) approach was used as the main analysis technique, and Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) was incorporated for the robustness test. The research was conducted on companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2014-2020 period. This study finds that return on assets, solvency ratio, and Tobin's Q positively affect stock prices, that cash ratio has a negative effect on stock prices, and that, interestingly, older companies convey better signals than the younger ones. These findings can assist investors in making quality decisions and company managers in making consideration for developing company strategies. Further, this study comprehensively analyzes the effect of corporate financial ratios on stock prices using the perspective of signaling theory and Modigliani-Miller theory looks at the differences between older and younger companies.

Abstract

The rapid growth in demand for palm oil throughout the world has triggered the development of plantations which has an impact on the accumulation of palm oil waste. The resulting waste consists of empty oil palm fruit bunches, palm kernel shells, fiber, stems and fronds which have significant calorific value. This research aims to utilize liquid and solid waste produced from palm oil processing, especially liquid waste which is currently minimally utilized. One solution to this problem is briquette making to evaluate the characteristics of briquettes produced from a combination of shells, empty fruit bunches, solid decanters and liquid palm oil mill waste. The method applied in this research is an experiment that begins with literature study, survey, briquette making, testing, and data analysis. The test results showed that the highest heating value in sample A2 was 25137.95 cal/gram, the highest water content was in A2 with a value of 7.1%, the highest combustion rate was recorded in A1 at 0.16%, the highest ash content was obtained from A2 with a value of 14.4%, and the highest density was in A2B3 at 0.58%.

Abstract

This study aims to empirically test the influence of the board of directors on company performance with family ownership as a moderating variable. The sampling method used in this research was purposive sampling of manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2018-2022 period, resulting in 721 observations as a sample. The analysis technique applied to test the hypothesis is moderated regression analysis (MRA). This study empirically shows that female directors and larger boards will improve firm performance. However, family ownership reduces the positive impact of female directors on firm performance. Finally, family ownership does not strengthen the influence of board size on firm performance. This research provides an interesting view regarding the moderating role of family ownership on the effect of the board of directors on firm performance, which is analyzed comprehensively using two measurement proxies.
