Abstract

This research intends to analyze the use of communication channels by the West Java Governor candidates in 2018 to convey prospective policy choice political information to the voter segmentation in 27 regencies or cities. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The results showed that the communication channels used by West Java Governor Candidates through social media to disseminate prospective policy choice political information to the millennial generation segmentation in urban areas and through Islamic Boarding Schools reach Kiai, students, and the public in rural areas. It shows the importance of utilizing communication channels through social media. The other hand also shows the importance of professional organization channels through Islamic Boarding Schools and interpersonal communication to approach Kiai as an opinion leader to gain voters in the election for West Java Governor. Thus, this research benefits gubernatorial candidates in choosing communication channels to provide political information that must adjust to geographical and demographic conditions and to voters about how to obtain political information to gain knowledge of the regional head candidates. This research is still relevant as a study to make a sample of policy in the next election in 2024.

Abstract

  The Job Creation Act (Undang-Undang Cipta Kerja) Number 11 of 2020 has mandated the Analog Switch Off (ASO) program to be carried out no later than November 2, 2022 at 24.00. Analog Switch Off is part of the process of digitalization of broadcasting, which is the process of switching or migrating terrestrial television national television that was originally analog broadcast into digital broadcast. This ASO Program will significantly impact various aspects of the broadcasting industry, including local television stations. Based on this, this study aims to determine how the implementation of the Analog Switch Off program affects the local broadcasting industry, especially local broadcasters or local television stations, and how the future of the local broadcasting industry after the implementation. The study used qualitative methods with a descriptive approach and library research. The results of the study stated that the implementation of the ASO Program has significantly impacted the local broadcasting industry, namely changes in business models, improved broadcast quality, and understanding of changes in viewer behavior.

Abstract

Abstrak   Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis jenis konten yang paling sering dikonsumsi serta tingkat kekhawatiran terhadap dampak media Over-The-Top (OTT) di kalangan Generasi X, Y, dan Z di Jawa Barat. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan survei, studi ini menelaah persepsi dan respons generasi terhadap konten OTT yang meliputi kekerasan, pornografi, isu LGBT, serta konten yang mengandung nilai-nilai moral dan sosial yang sensitif. Berdasarkan teori Uses and Effects, penelitian ini menjelaskan bagaimana kebutuhan konsumsi media memengaruhi persepsi risiko dan kekhawatiran pengguna terhadap dampak psikologis dan sosial konten OTT. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Generasi X menunjukkan kekhawatiran tertinggi terhadap konten bermuatan moral dan pornografi karena dianggap bertentangan dengan nilai budaya lokal, sedangkan Generasi Y lebih menyoroti isu kekerasan dan pengaruh sosial tayangan ekstrem. Generasi Z menunjukkan tingkat kekhawatiran yang lebih rendah, namun mengkhawatirkan dampak psikologis dan normalisasi perilaku menyimpang yang tersirat dalam konten hiburan. Secara umum, seluruh generasi menyadari pentingnya regulasi dan literasi media. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa pola konsumsi OTT terkait dinamika nilai moral dan persepsi risiko, menjadi dasar penguatan klasifikasi konten, literasi digital keluarga, dan lingkungan media yang aman sesuai sosial budaya Indonesia. Kata kunci: Media OTT, Generasi X Y Z, Kekhawatiran Konten.
