Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify problems and develop tourism potential in the site of the former Mataram Kartasura palace based on the emerging potential. This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive analysis. Data obtained from interviews with a number of 6 sources, both from the management of the former Mataram Kartasura palace, the Sukoharjo district government and also the Surakarta Kasunanan. The interview data were processed and analyzed using the SWOT analysis technique. Identification of problems that arise in the object of the former Mataram Kartasura palace, namely around the object of revitalization which is considered difficult, the role of the community is less active, the potential of the surrounding area that can boost the object of the former palace, management that has not been synergized, labor problems, transportation accommodation is not optimal, policy weaknesses local government of Sukoharjo. Therefore, this research is divided into 3 things, namely products, marketing and institutions by increasing the strengths and opportunities of the objects of the former Mataram Kartasura palace and minimizing the weaknesses and threats of emerging potentials.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui permasalahan dan mengupas identifikasi permasalahan yang muncul pada situs bekas keraton Mataram Kartasura mengingat hampir kurang lebih 300 tahun bekas areal keraton Mataram Kartasura tersebut terbengkalai dan sudah berubah fungsi menjadi lahan pemukiman penduduk dan lahan pemakaman. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan analisis deskriptif, di mana sumber data yang didapatkan dari hasil wawancara beberapa sumber baik dari pihak pemerintah kabupaten Sukoharjo, pengelola/juru kunci keraton Mataram Kartasura dan juga pihak Kasunanan Surakarta. Hasil wawancara tersebut dideskripsikan dan dianalisis untuk menjawab beberapa identifikasi permasalahan pada situs bekas keraton Mataram Kartasura. Hasil penelitian ini menyebutkan bahwa identifikasi permasalahan pada situs bekas keraton Mataram Kartasura berdasarkan olahan data wawancara yang didapatkan terdapat beberapa hal yakni masalah revitatalisasi, di mana objek petilasan bekas keraton Mataram Kartasura sudah tidak utuh lagi dan banyak yang sudah berubah fungsi menjadi pemukiman dan juga areal pemakaman sehingga sulit untuk merevitalisasi objek sesuai dengan catatan sejarah, peran masyarakat yang notabene kurang aktif, pengelolaan yang belum sinergis antara pihak pihak yang terkait, pembenahan segi akomodasi khususnya transportasi, dan juga permasalahan tenaga kerja di kemudian hari jika menjadi obyek wisata.

Abstract

In Nglurah tourism village, it can be found some attractions that have the potential to develop. Some attractions have been developed by involving the community in its management, but its development has not been as expected. The purpose of this research is to know the attitude of the community and the level of human resources of the community of Nglurah tourism village in supporting the development of community-based tourism and the right strategy for its development. The CBT concept (Community-Based Tourism) that is applied to achieve sustainable tourism management was applied in the forms of local community participation, tourism village institute creation, environmental-based tourism attractions management, and the creation of small business activities by the locals. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type of research. The data resource of this research was in the forms of primary and secondary data with a data collection that was done through observation, interviews, documentation, and FGD (Focus Group Discussion). The data analysis uses stages, which are data collection, data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The result of this research shows that the management of tourist attraction in "Sewu Kembang" Nglurah Tourism Village appears from the initiative of the local's people, the locals have agreed on the creation of tourism village institute, the creation of Pleseran Campsite, Dukutan ceremonies, Embankment site management priority programs as the main attraction and the emergence of community business activities as a result of the tourism attraction management.
