Abstract

Abstract— Education and the body are closely related. School as a means of education does not only transfer knowledge to students, but also hones awareness of their bodies. However, in the field, it shows that Madurese female students who study in Madura do not realize that their bodies are the objects of power relations that operate through a hidden curriculum. This research tries to explain the cause. In order to obtain data about it, a case study approach, as a cluster of qualitative methods, was used in this field work. The data, which were mostly obtained from unstructured interviews, were then explained using social body studies. The results of this study indicate that the body as an object of power relations appears in the regulation of the use of the headscarf (“Jilbab”)for Madurese female students, especially those who attend SMPN 1 Labang, Bangkalan. Thus, the public schools there seem to discipline Madurese female students as if they are undergoing a regular Islamic boarding school or madrasah education almost everyday life. Various productions of knowledge about masturbation are channeled through the media. The production of knowledge disseminated through technology presents ambivalent conditions that make individual consciousness never complete. However, various studies on masturbation have not touched the media aspect. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to examine the power of the media on masturbation in producing social body discipline. Foucault’s concept of discourse becomes a theoretical knife. Foucault’s discourse orientation leads to an analysis of the power of knowledge on the discipline of social action. The research method is qualitative. The media used are Youtube Clarin Hayes and Lampu Islam. The results of the study show that the media is never neutral, because it is intertwined with the politics of knowledge. It affects the social reality of society in creating sex ideologies and technologies that go beyond the biological body.

Abstract

Women in Islam are subjects who often experience recognition instability. Instability is formed through universality logocentrism that has been established in people's consciousness. People's judgments always focus "at the center", but forget about something that goes "on the periphery". This study aims to deconstruct the identity of Muslim women who have been constructed as weak, powerless, and imprisoned subjects by religious and cultural representations. Media studies are the main focus of this research. The choice of media studies departs from the postmodern reality that cannot be separated from text and media. Rahma.id is the main focus of this media. The election of Rahma.id because it is oriented towards Muslim women, as well as being a new media that has accommodated many narratives about women, gender, and Islam. Derrida's deconstruction becomes a knife of analysis, considering his concept that wants to break the establishment of modern society by reading differance. Through Derrida's deconstruction, we get the result that there are gender values that are forgotten to become narratives in the media. In fact, Muslim women have multicultural, multi-perspective, and multi-disciplinary characters.
