Abstract

The air condition in residential or office buildings needs to be sought so that the conditions are fresh and comfortable for the residents. Indonesia with a tropical climate has hot temperatures and high humidity levels. For this reason, the application of air conditioning systems is needed. The study was conducted by survey to record the size of the house, the area of ventilation, the number and size of air conditioners used, the temperature of the use of air conditioners, and the monthly electricity bill. Data is processed to obtain specific data on the adequacy of ventilation, the level of ACusage, the temperature of AC usage, and the level of AC electricity usage. The results of this study are that 77% of residential houses have ventilation areas that meet minimum requirements. Houses that use AC as much as 60%. Almost all air conditioners are used in sleeping rooms. AC users mostly choose cool comfortable temperatures, which is 55%. As for whochose the temperature of the use of air conditioners in optimal comfortable conditions by 35%. While those who choose warm temperatures to comfort in the use of AC as much as 10%. The average electricity bill due to the use of AC is 34% of the total residential electricity bill.

Abstract

Energy needs are one of the reasons why research on renewable energy is the choice. One of the renewable energies is OTEC (ocean thermal energy conversion) with sea surface heat being an energy source and boilers being a medium for converting heat energy into motion energy so that in the end it becomes electrical energy. Boilers are a vital part of a generator, so boiler testing is a requirement for a generator. The research was carried out by experiment by testing the boiler with various temperatures and pressures so as to produce output power. The results show that temperature and pressure are highly correlated with output power. The application of OTEC shows that temperature and pressure are things that must be considered, the higher the surface temperature, the greater the output power.

Abstract

Dalam sistem penggerak kapal dengan Metode Guldhammer – Harvald adalah suatu metode untuk menentukan besarnya daya mesin yang sesuai dengan propeller pada kapal. Tahapan metode Harvald dimulai dari menentukan : Effective Horse Power (EHP), Delivered Horse Power (DHP), Shaft Horse Power (SHP), Brake Horse Power (BHP). Dari hasil pencarian tersebut didapat daya  sebesar 5.820,071 HP, sehingga daya mesin tersebut sesuai yang beredar di parasan merk CAT 280-16. Dengan menentukan daya yang sesuai kebutuhan kapal, maka kapal dapat bergerak dengan kecepatan yang  di inginkan.                                                                  Kata kunci : Daya Mesin, Metode Guldhammer – Harvald

Abstract

Pengelasan adalah penyambungan dua buah logam baik dengan atau tanpa tekanan dan dengan atau tanpa tambahan bahan. Dari beberapa jenis las ada salah satu jenis yaitu las shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) yang sering di gunakan pada kegiatan pengelasan. Tujuan di adakan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efektifitas penggunaan elektroda pada pengelasan SMAW dengan menggunakan Marin plate dengan menggunakan Variasi elektroda dan kekuatan sambungan las. Metode yang di pakai dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan pengujian Tarik yang di lakukan di Lab Teknik Mesin UNWAHAS, dari hasil data yang didapat dan setelah proses pengolahan data di peroleh hasil bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan pada variasi kekuatan Tarik sambungan las, dan pada variasi penggunaan elektroda RB-26 dan LB-52 tidak ada pengaruh yang siknifikan serta hasil yang terahir adalah terdapat pengaruh yang siknifikan pada kombinasi penggunaan kedua variasi tersebut.

Abstract

A centrifugal compressor known as a turbocharger is powered by a turbine powered by exhaust fumes from moving vehicles. Usually used in internal combustion engines to increase the air pressure entering the engine and increase engine efficiency. The main benefit of turbochargers is that they provide a significant increase in engine power for just a little extra weight. The research was carried out by direct observation and then recorded the damage that occurred. The results show that damage to the turbocharger includes damage to rotation, damage to the bearings, and damage as a result of the main engine. To avoid damage, adequate maintenance is needed so that ship components will last longer.
