Abstract

Types of Plants Found Inside the Burial Jars at Lolo Gedang Site, Kerinci. From Theanalysis of soil samples palinology of jars and small jar from Lolo Gedang has obtained some type offossil pollen from plants, among others, of the type of Asteraceae, Pinaceae, Verbenaceae, Poaceae,Fagaceae, Polypodiaceae, Haloragaceae, Malvaceae, Salicaceae, and Convolvulaceae. With the discovery of new species of plants then it is likely this species has been used by communities in thepast. Keywords: Lolo Gedang Site, jar, fossil of pollen

Abstract

Plastic has a very big role in everyday life, usually used for household needs, and in the automotive industry. One of the most widely used types of plastic is polypropylene (PP). Polypropylene (PP) has unique properties, flexibility, and a relatively low melting point that makes it stand out as an excellent material for a variety of applications such as ropes, hinge caps, food packaging, and the automotive industry. The addition of dyes to plastic materials can affect the good properties of plastics, one of which is tensile strength. In general, the addition of dye is given as much as 1 kg of granulated dye compared to 25 kg of plastic (4% granulated dye). This study aims to determine the tensile strength of polypropylene (PP) plastic material with the addition of 1%, 5% and 15% dye. So, it is necessary to test to assess the tensile strength which consists of 3 (three) components, namely: 1. Yield strength. 2. Maximum tensile strength and 3. Modulus of elasticity. The manufacture of product specimens uses the ASTM D638 standard and is made using the injection molding process. The values of yield strength, maximum tensile strength and modulus of elasticity on plastic materials without added dye were 30.02 N/mm2, 42.47 N/mm2 and 0.43 GPa. While the addition of dyes of 1%, 5% and 15% respectively the values are 1. Yield Strength of 32.53 N/mm2, 30.59 N/mm2 and 28.29 N/mm2, 2. Maximum tensile strength of 46.13 N/mm2, 45.33 N/mm2 and 41.57 N/mm2, 3. The elastic modulus are 0.58 GPa, 0.55 GPa and 0.42 GPa. The results showed an increase in the value of yield strength, maximum tensile strength and modulus of elasticity at the level of addition of 1% dye, but the value decreased with the addition of dye by 5% & 15%.

Abstract

The development of science and technology in the 21st century requires biology learning to not only focus on mastering concepts, but also on strengthening students' scientific literacy. Scientific literacy includes critical and analytical thinking skills, as well as the ability to evaluate and apply scientific information in real life. However, survey results such as PISA show that Indonesian students' scientific literacy is still relatively low, which is thought to be caused by a learning approach that is less contextual and minimally encourages active student involvement. One approach that is believed to be able to develop scientific literacy is the inquiry learning model. This study uses a meta-analysis method on eight SINTA-indexed scientific articles that examine the effectiveness of the inquiry learning model on students' critical thinking skills. The analysis was carried out by calculating the effect size value using the Cohen's d formula. The results show an average effect size value of -2.40, which statistically indicates a negative effect. However, there are extreme values that significantly affect the aggregate results.

Abstract

Karakelong island located in the Talaud Islands, North Sulawesi Province. In astronomy Talaud Islands lies between 3° 45'- 5° north latitude and between 126° 30' - 126°45' east longitude. The island is surrounded by natural beauty of the sea coast and forests. Archaeological remnants from this island among others are a series of Karakelong caves, one of which is the Balangingi cave. From this site has been obtained more than 2.604 fragments of pottery, three red-glass beads and two green-glass beads, two fragments of bronze/copper and a segment of bronze/copper bracelets. Radio carbon dating on charchoal samples found at the depth of 20-30 cm showed the date of 950 ± 130 BP in the middle layer of the culture. (Tanudirjo 2001). From observations made on the vegetation environment in Karakelong island, in particular in the sub distrct of Rainis (Rainis village), the physiognomy of plants can be divided in to the environment of coastal vegetation, plantation environment, bush and jungle environments. This site could be expected to be come a tourist destination in the future, considering the site has the potential for archaeological remains as well as its potential environment.

Abstract

A variety of plant species that exist today reflect the diversity of plant species as well as how pre-existing or in the past, the area along the environmental conditions are not much changed significantly. Plant communities in a region will illustrate the diversity of plant species tolerant to environmental conditions in the area. The power plant tolerance to different environmental factors will lead to different types of plants that live in the area By using HF method and Acetolysis, then the results of the identification of fossil pollen (pollen analysis) that has been done specifically on a sample of soil /sediment from the findings of pottery, as well as the box has been opened at the excavation site Pemuteran, Buleleng Regency, Bali Province randomly, especially in layer B in test pit 4 and 5, the types derived from fossil pollen from plants derived from plants that are useful in the family Compositae, Poaceae, Malvaceae and Papilionaceae. In addition, there is also a pollen that is not available on the site around Pemuteran, such as the family Pinaceae, Fagaceae, Daphnae, Sequoia, Geraniaceae, Cupressus.
