Islam does not prohibit various kinds of social customs and cultural traditions, as long as they do not conflict with Islamic law and creed. The earth alms ritual which is held in several regions of the archipelago is a legacy of ancestors which is essentially a manifestation of human gratitude towards the Creator. In practice, many earth charity ritual ceremonies have now experienced acculturation with Islamic values, namely sharing the harvest accompanied by offering prayers to Allah SWT as an expression of gratitude. The tradition of giving alms to the earth by the residents of Bukit Biru Tenggarong sub-district aims to build togetherness among fellow farmers, namely as a form of gratitude for the good fortune and delicious harvests from the agricultural sector that Allah SWT bestows on the farming community. The earth alms tradition, viewed from the perspective of Islamic law, can be categorized as 'Urf. 'Urf is a habit that has long been preserved by society and which later became a custom. Apart from that, 'Urf also has the meaning of a habit or action that is considered good by society.

Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat di sentra industri terasi Puger berawal dari permintaan bantuan teknologi yang berkaitan dengan pengolahan terasi dan manajemen bisnis dari pengusaha terasi Puger di Desa Puger Kulon Kecamatan Puger Kabupaten Jember. Permasalahan utama yang dikemukakan pengusaha terasi Puger adalah kapasitas produksi yang rendah, volume penjualan yang tidak mengalami peningkatan dan pemasaran produk yang terbatas. Kegiatan ini bertujuan mengatasi permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra dengan menawarkan suatu inovasi berupa modifikasi alat pengolah terasi ramah lingkungan, kapasitas produksi tinggi dan higienis serta memberikan pelatihan manajemen bisnis untuk meningkatkan usaha yang telah dilakukan. Metode yang dilakukan antara lain melalui demonstrasi alat, dan pelatihan pada mitra serta layanan jasa konsultasi. Hasil kegiatan ini berupa penerapan mesin pengolah terasi modern untuk meningkatkan kapasitas produksi, penggunaan pembukan sederhana untuk industri menengah, pengemasan produk terasi berbagai ukuran dengan bahan pengemas yang aman, estetik dan ergonomis.

Changes and developments over time have encouraged the importance of contextual understanding of hadith by the people. In the midst of this, studying the understanding of hadith using a methodical approach has urgency, especially its position as a source of law after the Koran and its function as mubayyin (explainer). In Indonesia, the understanding of hadith can be seen as still experiencing delays. The aim of this research is to explain the methods and understanding of hadith in Indonesia. This research method uses a library research approach, namely by conducting a study of several literatures related to hadith studies studied and developed in Indonesia, including several Islamic intellectual scientific works that examine hadith studies in Indonesia. The findings show that in Indonesia there are several popular methods of understanding hadith that are studied and studied in hadith science literature, including the tahlili (analytical) method, the ijmali (global) method, the muqarin (comparative) method, and the maudhu'i method ( thematic). It is possible that the models of methods for understanding hadith will experience development as times change. The problem of modern life like today, of course, is that understanding hadith requires an understanding that can respond to the needs of the times. In the current context, for example, understanding hadith using a scientific and philosophical approach has become a model of approach that is seen as being able to respond to modernity. It is hoped that this approach model can provide a comprehensive understanding of the hadiths of the Prophet SAW, that is, not only to be understood at a textual level, but also to be understood contextually and substantively so that the essence and wisdom behind the hadith texts can be understood wisely.
