Abstract

Internet of Things (IoT) has become a phenomenon in many researchers. A smart digital automated system based on IoT plays major role which helps in reducing human work by applying interaction technology in daily life. This research introduces the IoT Smart Door Lock where smartphone uses Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi) to activate the door lock. By using Android software, the smartphone will automatically activate the door lock within a specific range. Data transmission will be done using Wi-Fi technology. So, the user does not have to worry whether the door has been locked or not because user can control it by using their smartphone within a specific range. The user also does not have to worry about losing the door key anymore because there is no device required except user’s smartphone. This project consists of hardware and software development. The main purpose on the design is to prevent the situation where the user is unable to unlock the door when the key is missing also to give a solution for users to monitor door status when they forget the door has been locked or not. This system aims to eliminate the use of keys to access the door, where the daily struggle faced to bring along a bunch of keys anywhere. Besides that, the door locking system must function efficiently. The prototype of this system is successfully done, the procedure and the software and hardware requirement has been compiled in this report.

Abstract

In the past few decades many studies and researches have taken place in order to improve security systems and to increase their level of protection in different fields. One of the major problems that security must deal with is the fire outbreak that can happen in everywhere including houses, schools, factories and many other places, and to avoid that or to minimize the damage caused by fire outbreak an IoT technology is used to control such a kind of risk. IoT is a modern system that consist of sensors and switches connected. In this project we will use temperature sensor known as (Flame sensor) with Arduino device to detect fire outbreak and to measure the amount of heat intensity generated by a fire outbreak or in a specific location in our house, offices and other places. It sometimes takes too much time for the fire station to reach to the fire outbreak location and works on extinguish the fire and so these sensors will work as an early alarm system which will send a notification to our mobile phones if any fire outbreak occurred to let us know the situation clearly and before it’s too late, we act to avoid significant damage in case the fire outbreak was observed after a long time from its outbreak.

Abstract

Theft cases often go unnoticed and are everywhere we are. It can happen in public, at school, at work or even in your own home. Things like this often happen to teens and older adults. Some of them do not have a safe place to store their valuables because of their carelessness. This is because they do not take this seriously. On the other hand, they already have their own safety box which is a great example of keeping items from being stolen or robbed. With the Internet of Things (IoT), this safety box can be improved by adding features that make it even safer to receive notifications on a mobile phone when the safety box is opened. With these improvements, property owners will become more aware of their goods because not everyone around us can be trusted. The use of these notifications is an update that will be created to improve the security of your goods. The methodology used to carry out this project is called Prototyping Method. In this way, prototype can be said to be both a design and an example of an existing system, but not yet fully functional. Prototypes will outline how a system works, and most prototype systems are not yet the perfect system to run.
