Abstract

Asthma is characterized by chronic inflammation of the airways involving various mediators and interrelated inflammatory cells resulting in physiological and structural changes in the airways. Asthma treatment aims to make asthma controllable. Controllable asthma is an asymptomatic state of asthma. Breathing relaxation has many techniques including using a blowing balloon technique (inflating a balloon). The purpose of this case study is to determine the effectiveness of giving blowing balloon therapy to asthma patients with a diagnosis of ineffective breathing pattern. The method used in this research is descriptive observation method with a case study approach. The subjects in this study were 3 patients with asthma aged 13-50 years, suffering from asthma for more than 3 months, recurrence frequency 2 times/week and willing to be respondents. Therapy was carried out 5 times. The study was conducted for 2 weeks in February 2021. The results of the case study showed that the three patients gave a positive response and experienced a decrease in respiration. The average respiratory frequency of patients 21-23x/minute with complaints of reduced shortness of breath. Blowing balloon therapy to stabilize the respiratory rate of asthma patients

Abstract

Management of disaster victims carried out by nurses needs to be based on good knowledge in order to save many lives. It is necessary to carry out optimal strategies and exercises in providing management of disaster victims. The Space Rehearsal Simulation using the tabletop disaster exercise method was able to increase the knowledge and analytical power of the medical team, especially nurses, in providing management for disaster victims. This activity was carried out using online and offline methods for 3 meetings consisting of preparation, implementation, and evaluation. Participants are nurses who are active in disaster activities totaling 16 people. The media used are disaster maps, simulation scenarios and cases, and observation sheets. The results showed that knowledge increased, the average before was 47.81 and the average after was 88.43. The rehearsal simulation method using tabletop disaster is an alternative method that is simple and practical to increase nurses' knowledge.

Abstract

Introduction: Kebumen is one of the districts that has a high level of disaster vulnerability in Central Java. Most of area is lowland and village located in a coastal area and close to the beach so that it has a tsunami disaster. This research is to describe level of knowledge, attitude, disaster plan, emergency disaster, early warning system, mobilization of resources in a tsunami disaster. Methods: This study is a descriptive study with 98 respondents were all members of the community. The sampling technique used purposed sampling with 50 questionnaires, and analysis determine the proportion based on the categories of good, adequate and insufficient. Results: The level of knowledge and attitudes of the disaster community is in the bad category (51%), level of family policies is in the moderate category (52%), level of emergency response plans is in the moderate category (72.4%), and level of the warning system bad category (56.1%). Meanwhile, the level of resource mobility was in the bad category (71.4%). Conclusion: The results of community preparedness in Kebumen in the face of tsunami disaster based on 5 parameters were found that the community wasn’t ready.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: Increased fluid as manifested by weight gain in patients with chronic kidney failure hemodialysis programs have a risk impact on fluid accumulation, cardiovascular disorders, hypertension, cognitive impairment, increased hospital stay and death. The low adherence to the diet program is one of the factors causing the interdialyst weight gain value to increase. Objective: To find out the interdialyst weight gain intervention that has been carried out in previous research to improve diet adherence in chronic kidney failure patients with a hemodialysis program. Method :This study studied literature using the PRISMA method, search techniques using PICO from the PuBmed database, Google Scolar, ProQuest, Science Direc, SAGE journals with the keywords chronic kidney failure, hemodialysis, interdialyst weight gain, diet adherence with established inclusion and inclusion criteria. Assess and analyze the quality of the methodology in each study using The Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) Critical Appraisal Checklist for quasi-experimental. Results: Of the 10 articles reviewed, the journal quality analysis uses analysis from The Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) according to the criteria of at least 50% meeting the critical appraisal criteria which are then included in the data synthesis. Those 10 articles in the last screening achieved scores higher than 50%. It was found that the interdialyst weight gain intervention proved to be influential in increasing the diet adherence of chronic kidney failure patients with the hemodialysis program. The form of this intervention is fluid management calendar IDWG calculator,smartphone-based health education and reminders. Conclusion: the value of interdialyst weight gain is influenced by dietary adherence in chronic kidney failure patients. Family support is expected to play an active role in dietary compliance, knowledge level, activity control and thirst can be managed properly so that the interdialyst weight gain remains within normal limits.
