Abstract

Energy is a very important resource in achieving social, economic and environmental goals for sustainable development and is a supporter of national economic activities. Energy use in Indonesia is increasing rapidly in line with economic growth and population growth. Two-thirds of the total national energy needs come from commercial energy and the rest comes from biomass which is used traditionally (non-commercially).Pikohydro is a hydroelectric power plant that has a power of under 5kW per unit. Picohydro usually has three main components, namely water (energy source), turbine and generator. Picohydro can be used as an alternative to oil-fueled diesel power plants which are not environmentally friendly and have relatively expensive operational costs. This system is designed by utilizing the flow of water flowing in the river using the on grid method because the current in the river tends to be stable if you don't use batteries because it is more economical. Apart from that the voltage is relatively unstable because the voltage that is converted to AC electricity tends to fluctuate, therefore To increase the voltage, use a DC to DC converter which is equipped with a PID system to stabilize the voltage. In this DC to DC converter, it is used to provide a DC output voltage that varies in size according to the demand on the load.

Abstract

The increasing need for sustainable electrical energy has driven the development of various renewable energy sources, one of which is wind power plants (wind turbines). The development of the Internet of Things (IoT) is a solution for monitoring and managing wind power plants remotely, in real time so that it is more efficient and centralized. The integration method on the Internet of Things (IoT) platform is to build a sensor system installed on the wind turbine output so that it can send operational data in real time. The background of this study will design and implement a power monitoring system on a wind turbine using an Internet of Things-based web service platform. The development of an Internet of Things-based power monitoring system on web services will be built using the Laravel framework which will be integrated with the power output of the wind power plant. This platform is expected to simplify the process of monitoring, controlling, and analyzing wind turbine performance in real time, so that it can increase operational efficiency and support the development of sustainable renewable energy.

Abstract

Small-scale Microhydro power plants (100 Watt) require a real-time and accurate power monitoring system to improve efficiency and maintenance. This research aims to develop an Internet of Things (IoT)-based electrical power analysis system by utilizing a Web Service based on the CodeIgniter Framework to process and display data online. The system consists of sensor modules (voltage and current) using ZMPT101B and ACS712, an ESP32 microcontroller for data transmission, and a CodeIgniter backend that provides a RESTful API for data storage and processing. Power (P), voltage (V), current (I), and energy (kWh) data are displayed on a web dashboard with graphic visualization using Chart.js. The research method uses a Research and Development (R&D) approach with stages of needs analysis, system design, implementation, and testing. The test results show that the system is able to monitor power with 95% accuracy compared to digital multimeter measurements, and has a data transmission latency of <2 seconds. This solution can be applied to small-scale Microhydro power plants for IoT-based monitoring with low cost and high scalability.
