Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the role of political branding and personal branding in the choice of regional heads. This research used a qualitative approach. This type of research was qualitative descriptive research. Data collection methods using interviews, documentation techniques. The research results showed that political branding during the regional election campaign is formed through self-identification, namely character, abilities, values, political products, ideas, positioning, namely constituent segmentation, personality, key political messages, interpretation. Personal branding in supporting his candidacy to become deputy mayor is explained by appearance, leadership style, visibility and personality. The reason for entrepreneurs' strategies with political branding and personal branding during the campaign period is because branding strategies provide symbolic value in terms of identification, meaning, value, benefits, promises and differentiation of a political product. Political branding and personal branding are considered capable of influencing perceptions and providing confidence to constituents. Political branding and personal branding are the results of interactions and emotional attachments that exist between political contestants and their constituents.

Abstract

AbstractThis research aims to identify the types of phytoplankton, identify the abundance of phytoplankton, and study the relationship between environmental factors and the abundance of phytoplankton. This research was carried out on January 10, 2023, at the Jenes River, Surakarta. Sampling was carried out at 3 observation stations to identify environmental factors (pH, DO, CO2, salinity, BOD, light intensity, temperature, and brightness). Observations were carried out at three stations, namely upstream, middle and downstream, namely, in the morning (06.00–07.00 WIB) and during the day (12.00–14.00 WIB). Measurements of environmental factors were carried out at the integrated laboratory at Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta. The results of the research showed that the phytoplankton found were 9 families consisting of 11 species with an average abundance of 6,834 individuals/L in the morning day and an average abundance of 13,088 individuals/L during the day. The most abundant phytoplankton in the morning observations was Ulothrix sp. Meanwhile, the most abundant phytoplankton in the afternoon observations was Chroococcus sp. This abundance is also influenced by environmental factors such as pH, DO, Salinity, BOD, CO2, and temperature. The research found that the middle station had the highest phytoplankton diversity index during the day (1.6), possibly because it was indicated to be lightly polluted, allowing the life of many phytoplankton such as Closterium sp. and Quadrigula sp. The highest abundance of phytoplankton in the morning is Ulothrix sp., in the afternoon, it is Chroococcus sp.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasikan jenis fitoplankton, kelimpahan fitoplankton, dan analisis hubungan faktor lingkungan dengan kelimpahan fitoplankton di Sungai Jenes Surakarta.

Abstract

The study aims to test the bioremediation potential of Nannochloropsis sp. against Pb (lead) contamination in the batik textile industrial area. The steps in this study include collecting river water samples from 3 different stations, preparing the samples by adding HNO3, culturing Nannochloropsis sp. seed for 7 days, testing the initial Pb metal content before and after treatment with Nannochloropsis sp. using wet-digestion techniques, and analyzing the samples. The water samples were taken from upstream, midstream, and downstream. The water samples were then preserved with HNO3. After that, Nannochloropsis sp. cultures were conducted, and results showed an increase in algal population after 7 days. Subsequently, metal content testing was conducted using AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer) with a wet-digestion technique to eliminate organic substances in the samples from each station. Metal content testing was conducted before and after treatment with algae. The results of this study showed a decrease in Pb metal levels at each station in the Jenes River after treatment with algae and 7 days of culture. The average decrease obtained was 14.0 before treatment and 5.0 after treatment. Nannochloropsis sp. is an important bioremediation agent for degrading Pb (lead) contamination in river water resulting from excessive industrial waste. These findings contribute to the development of waste treatment to preserve the river ecosystem.

Abstract

The global environmental crisis positions the education sector as a strategic actor in mitigation and adaptation efforts. This study analyzes biology teacher needs to establish a foundation for developing an e-module based on the Collaborative Problem Solving Environmental Issue-Based Socio-Scientific Issues (CPS-EIS) framework. Through a descriptive research design, data were obtained from practitioners using a validated five-level Likert scale instrument. Evidence indicates a high priority for digital media that integrates authentic environmental cases and guides systematic collaborative thinking processes over simple information delivery. The integration of the CPS-EIS model offers a novel solution by aligning collaborative group work with the analysis of controversial socio-scientific issues to address the disparity between curriculum objectives and field realities. These results serve as the primary guideline for the instructional design of adaptive tools intended to improve environmental literacy and student collaboration in high school settings.
