Abstract

One of the natural characteristics of a watershed that ensures the sustainability of ecosystem services is soil. The sustainability of ecosystem services in the Kempo sub-watershed related to soil conditions tends to be in a worrying condition because the sub-watershed is classified as critical. This study aims to describe the relationship between soil characteristics and the sustainability of ecosystem services in the Kempo sub-watershed. Data were obtained from surveys, literature studies, and on-screen digitization of Google Earth images in 2010 and 2019. Modeling of causal loop diagrams using Vensim software. The results show a tendency for ecosystem disservices to occur due to deforestation, which is characterized by the dominance of the negative/balancing behavior type, compared to the positive/reinforcing type. Soil conditions tend to be less supportive of the sustainability of ecosystem services due to high deforestation and intensive monoculture land cultivation. Important changes in the system can be made by addressing deforestation as a significant influence on negative feedback on soil conditions. The CLD model can be used in the development of a framework for assessing ecosystem services and disservices both qualitatively and quantitatively, so further research needs to build dynamic system modeling using Stock Flow Diagrams (SFD).

Abstract

Reductions in the supply of labor and wages occur to people with disabilities. Disability conditions cause a decline in productivity so that the probability of being a labor is small, risk of unemployment and loss of income. The high prevalence of disabilities in Indonesia causes inequality of labor participation and wages for disabilities in Indonesia based on the type of disabilities. The data used is Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS) waves 4 and 5 by pooled cross-section. The analysis methods are logit and tobit models. The results showed that communicative disabilities have a higher chance of labor participation and wages. Factors of the degree of severity, age, male, head of household, education, urban, chronic disease, ownership of insurance, and ownership of assets also affect labor participation and wages for disabilities. The labor activation program for disabilities is a succession and initiative as welfare reform, poverty alleviation and an indicator of inclusive development.

Abstract

Sustainable development in a region has a balance between its dimensions, which will affect successful development. Successful sustainable development is proven by improving environmental quality. However, implementing existing sustainable development has not yet to produce maximum output. This research aims to determine the influence of sustainable development dimensions on the environmental quality in each regency/city of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. The research results show that the highest achievement on the social dimension index is Kota Yogyakarta, the economic dimension is Kulon Progo, the environmental dimension is Sleman, and the legal and governance dimensions are Kulon Progo. In addition, the typology of environmental quality through the environmental budget and agricultural PSTK approach shows that Kulon Progo and Gunungkidul are classified as well-developed typologies. On the other hand, panel data regression analysis using the fixed effect model shows a probability value of 0,000003 so that sustainable development dimensions simultaneously significantly influence environmental quality. Therefore, a balance is needed between the dimensions of sustainable development so that environmental quality improvement can be achieved.
