Abstract

Hypertension is a disease called the silent killer because the symptoms are without complaint, only known after complications are discovered. Increased blood pressure in patients with hypertension can be overcome by using pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments. Non-pharmacological therapy that can be done to reduce blood pressure in hypertensive sufferers is stress management using meditation therapy. Praying Meditation: "God In A Breath". This study aims to determine the effect of Praying Meditation: "God In A Breath" on reducing blood pressure in patients with hypertension. This research was conducted in the working area of Puskesmas Koting District, Sikka Regency. This study used a quasi experimental design with a randomized pretest-posttest control group design approach, the study sample used a simple random sampling of 87 people. The analysis used univariate with frequency and percentage, bivariate using the Wilcoxon test, and statistical difference test (Mann-Whitney test). The results showed that the Wilcoxon test had a significant effect on the Praying Meditation: "God In A Breath" intervention on blood pressure with a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05). The results of the Mann-Whitney test showed a significant difference between the blood pressure of the intervention group and the control group with a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05). Prayer meditation has an effect on lowering blood pressure so that it can be one of the nursing interventions that can be given by nurses and can be continued by hypertensive patients independently. Keywords: blood pressure, hypertension , praying meditation.

Abstract

Background: Osteoarthritis (OA) is a chronic and progressive joint disorder that is usually found in middle to old age, which is characterized by damage to cartilages located in the joints of the bones. Its presence is often followed by muscle weakness, limitation in movement and local pain—ultimately decreases the quality of life for patients suffering from it. Purpose: This study aims to analyse the effect of contrast bath therapy and rheumatic exercise on changes of pain and movement range in older people with osteoarthritis. Methods: This research used a quantitative method, i.e., Quasi-Experiment with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Based on the design, intervention was only conductedtowards one group without comparison. The effectiveness of the treatment was assessed by comparing the scores pre-test and post-test of 35 elderly respondents, whose inclusion criteria were: elderly residents of the Padu Wau Waipare Social Care Center, Kangae District, Sikka Regency; age> 60 years; having a medical history of knee osteoarthritis and complaints of joint pain (scale 1-9);and not currently experiencing inflammation with uncontrolled severe joint pain scale (scale 10) whichrequires elderlies to have bedrest then analysed using wilcoxon test statistical. Results : The result of Wilcoxon test statistical test indicates that there is an effect of rheumatic exercise and contrast bath therapy on changes in pain levels and range of motion before and after rheumatic exercise therapy in which from the total of 35 respondents who were observed, the z value = -3.357b<z table value and p value = 0.001 (p <0.05). Conclusion: that there is a significant effect caused by rheumatic exercise and contrast bath therapy on changes in pain levels and range of motion. Abstract

Peer support education is a form of independent nursing action to help people with hypertension, both individuals, groups and communities through learning activities that require support from family, peers, medical personnel and the surrounding environment so that the elderly who suffer from hypertension become obedient to taking medication because Medication adherence is one of the main supporting factors for achieving the therapeutic effect of hypertension treatment. support from family or people around them can be given in the form of emotional support, appreciation, instrumental and information. This study aims to analyze the effect of peer support education on adherence to taking hypertension medication in the elderly in the Wolomarang Health Center work area. The design of this study used a one group pre-post test design. The population in this study were all elderly people with hypertension in Wuring Village, Wolomarang Health Center Work Area. The sample size in this study was 20 respondents using a total sampling technique that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The independent variable in this study was Peer Support Education, while the dependent variable was adherence to taking hypertension medication. Statistical analysis using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with a significance level of = 0.05. The results showed that there was an effect of peer support education on adherence to taking hypertension medication in the Wolomarang Health Center work area (p = 0.009). Therefore, considering the importance of family support, medical personnel and the people around them, it is hoped that they will continue to provide Peer Support education to the elderly so that they become obedient in taking hypertension medication. Non-adherence of hypertensive patients in taking medication can increase morbidity, mortality, and treatment costs.

Abstract

Introduction: ARV therapy is crucial for the survival of person living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA). As a result, PLWHA routinely visits VCT clinics to avoid losing track of them (LTFU). One of the factors influencing the presence of PLHIV in VCT clinics is socio-economics status. Objective: The research objective was to determine a correlation between socioeconomic factors and the occurrence of LTFU in ARV therapy. Method: This type of research employed quantitative with a cross-sectional approach. The population was 475 respondents and the sample was 35 respondents using accidental sampling. The data normality test used the Shapiro-Wilk test followed by the Chi-Square test to analyze the correlation. Results: The univariate test results revealed that the majority of PLWHA had lower socioeconomic factors, while the majority of LTFU were on antiretroviral therapy. The Chi-Square analysis obtained p value = 0.901 > a (0.05). indicating that H0 is accepted and Ha is rejected and that there is no correlation between socioeconomic factors and the incidence of loss to follow-up ARV therapy. Conclusion: There is no correlation between socioeconomic factors and the incidence of loss to follow up antiretroviral therapy at VCT Sehati clinic because it is supported by other influencing factors, namely family support, peer support, self efficacy and motivation.
