Abstract

Education is an effort made to build one's personality so that it can develop for the better. The professionalism of teachers can be seen from their academic qualifications and teaching experience. If a teacher's academic qualifications have met the existing provisions and standards, then he or she will have the appropriate competencies and are needed in managing learning while at school. Educational institutions are expected to be able to realize their role effectively with excellence in leadership, staff, educators, teaching and learning processes, development of educators and education personnel, curriculum, school climate, and involvement of parents and the community

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa melalui tutor sebaya. Penelitian dilakukan selama tiga bulan (Agustus sampai Oktober) pada semester 1 tahun pelajaran 2019/2020 di MAN 1 Kota Dumai. Subjek penelitian ini adalah kelas XII. MIA 1 MAN 1 Dumai dengan jumlah peserta didik 29 orang terdiri dari 11 laki-laki dan 18 perempuan. Peserta didik di kelas ini berasal dari berbagai tingkat kemampuan seperti kemampuan tinggi, sedang dan rendah dari peringkat di kelas XI, dengan latar belakang kemampuan akademik yang beragam pula. Persentase ketuntasan belajar siswa pada siklus I adalah 31,03% dan pada siklus II adalah 85%. Peningkattan dapat juga dilihat dari aktifitas siswa dan aktifitas guru. Dari penelitian ini dapat dilihat persentase aktifitas siswa pada siklus 1 86,32% dan 89,29% pada siklus 2, dari data tersebu dapat dilihat adanya peningkatan. Aktifitas guru pada siklu 1 84,62% dan pada siklus 2 meningkat menjadi 92,31%. Data ini menunjukan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran tutor sebaya mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik pada mata pelajaran kimia pokok bahasan penyetaraan reaksi redoks.
