Indonesia is one of the countries affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. This condition has an impact on many sectors, including maternal and neonatal health services, which usually provided by face-to-face, temporarily had to be postponed to prevent the spread of the virus. Providing health services during the COVID-19 pandemic by health workers can take advantage of information and communication technology. On of the education media that can used is by sending video via smartphone, because that is effective and easily media without contact so as to prevent the spread of the COVID-19. This study aims to determine the effect of the educational media provided via smartphones on preparation for childbirth during the COVID-19 pandemic in Surabaya. This study used a quasy experimental design with a pretest-postest. The size of samples were 35 respondents of pregnant women in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimesters who live in Surabaya. The statistical test used Paired Samples T-Test. The results of the analysis of this study indicate that the p value is 0.001

Kondisi ini berdampak pada banyak sektor, termasuk pelayanan kesehatan ibu dan bayi yang biasanya dilakukan secara tatap muka terpaksa ditunda sementara untuk mencegah penyebaran virus. Pemberian layanan kesehatan pada saat pandemi COVID-19 oleh tenaga kesehatan dapat memanfaatkan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi. Salah satu media edukasi yang dapat digunakan adalah dengan mengirimkan video melalui smartphone, karena media tersebut efektif dan mudah tanpa kontak sehingga dapat mencegah penyebaran COVID-19. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media edukasi yang disediakan melalui smartphone terhadap persiapan persalinan pada pandemi COVID-19 di Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain eksperimen semu dengan pretest-postest. Besar sampel adalah 35 responden ibu hamil trimester I, II, dan III yang berdomisili di Surabaya. Uji statistik menggunakan Paired Samples T-Test. Hasil analisis penelitian ini menunjukkan nilai p value 0,001 (<0,05), sehingga media edukasi berbasis smartphone berpengaruh signifikan terhadap persiapan persalinan ibu hamil pada saat pandemi COVID-19 di Surabaya. Persiapan persalinan harus dilakukan dengan baik oleh setiap ibu hamil agar proses persalinan berjalan dengan baik, terutama saat terjadi pandemi.Kata kunci: media pendidikan; persiapan persalinan; COVID-19
