Abstract

A descriptive study design using a convenience random sample of (N=423) students. This sample isdistributed throughout AL-Diwaniya Teaching Directorate. Data were collected through the use of anonline questionnaire; and analyzed through the descriptive and inferential statistical approach. This studyaims to identify the prevalence of Drug abuse among secondary school students. Results indicate thatdrugs use is low prevalent among secondary school students. Conclusion and Recommendations: Druguse prevalence is associated with students’ gender, age, family member, residency, house ownership,monthly income, parents’ education, and mothers’ occupation. The Ministry of Health should prioritizethe Drug use in public health by educating the parents and adolescents the health hazards of substanceuse through health programs and social media.
