Abstract

Objectives: To determine the effectiveness of the educational program on nurses-midwives knowledgeconcerning preterm labor and to identify the relationship between nurses- midwives knowledge andstudy variables.Methodology: A quasi-experimental design conducted on non-probability (purposive) sample offorty five nurses- midwives selected during period 17th October 2020 to 1st March 2021. The studyis conducted at the four hospitals of Ministry of Health (Baghdad health directorate in Al-Karhk andAl-Risafa) sector. in obstetric wards and delivery room and neonatal Unit . The questionnaire form isconsisted of two parts which included socio-demographic characteristics of the nurses-midwives andknowledge about preterm labor and birth. Reliability of the questionnaire was determined throughinternal consistency of correlation coefficient (R=0.807) and validity of content was determined throughreviewing it by ten experts in different specialists was determined through pilot study. Descriptive andinferential statistics were used to analyze the date.Result: The result of study revealed that their (33.3%) of study sample their age was (26-30) yearsold with mean and standard deviation is (32.68 ± 8.31) years, and less of half of the study sample wasgraduated from midwifery secondary school, half of study sample were married, 46.7% of them hadless than / equal to (5) years of experience in nursing and midwifery field. And (80%) of the them didnot practices midwifery as a profession inherited, (78%) of them were working in Government Hospitalonly , (70%) of (Nurses- Midwives) were not practicing midwifery at midwife home , (91%) of themhaving knowledge about preterm labor from Practical experience and (30%) of them suffered frompreterm labor during their fertile age.

Abstract

Abstract

Background:- Diabetes is a chronic disease in which pregnant with gestational Diabetes require lifelonghealth Protective Behaviors for Effective on Pregnancy OutcomeMethods: descriptive research design group Pre test used to determine the Effectiveness of InstructionalProgram Regarding Health Protective Behaviors for Women with Gestational Diabetes on PregnancyOutcome in Primary Health Care Centers and Maternity Hospital at Baghdad City.Methodology: descriptive research -l study conducted from 17th October 2020 to 30th January 2021,purposive sample Consisted of 50 pregnant women with gestation diabetic were selected from (4) primaryhealth centers, and tow from Al karkh department, and another Two from Al Rusafa in Baghdad City. Andselected from (4) Maternity Hospital Two from Al karkh department, and another Medical City Department.Results : The present study reports that the highest percentage (29%) of study sample is at age group rangingbetween (40 – 44) years old, with mean and SD = 32.38±7.22 years) the study sample was graduated fromSecondary school graduate, while the lowest percentage (9% ) were Neither read nor write This result wasin agreement by a study who reported that a majority of pregnant women (65.5%) indicated that pregnantwomen should receive on the education and The highest percentage (30%) of study sample was governmentof self employed while the lowest percentage (16 %) of study sample were .

Abstract

Objectives: To assess Psychosocial domestic violence among women and assess the impact ofPsychosocial domestic violence on women’s reproductive health during the COVID-19 pandemicMethodology: A descriptive analytical study was conducted on women subjected to psychosocialdomestic violence and impacts of psychosocial domestic violence on women during the Coronapandemic period. A deliberate sample of (150) women exposed to violence was selected by a memberof her family.Results: The result of the study showed that the highest percentage (79.4%) of the study samplemembers ranged in age from (20 to 34) years, most of whom were housewives, three quarters of thestudy sample had a low educational level. Psychosocial domestic violence was at a higher level ofrelative sufficiency.Conclusions: The results indicated that all study sample suffer psychosocial domestic violence duringchildbearing age, but most of the study sample considered psychosocial violence to be the mostinfluential on their lives than other effects.Recommendations: The study recommends that women be screened for psychosocial domesticviolence during childbearing age. psychosocial domestic violence topics into education curricula,using social media, the availability of health services, and supporting the strengthening of cooperationbetween social agencies, justice and the police through law enforcement and research to promote andprotect women’s rights.

Abstract

Immediate newborn care is the care given to newborns in the transitional period (immediately after birth)which crucial to their survival. Nurses- midwives require adequate knowledge and skills to provideimmediate newborn care. The study was aimed at determining the effectiveness of education program onnurses- midwives’ knowledge before and after the implementation of an educational program regardingimmediate newborn care in delivery room among study sample. Quasi-experimental study was conductedfrom 1st October 2019 to 20th January 2021 at three maternity teaching hospitals in Baghdad city/Al-RussafaHealth Directorate: Al-Elwiya Maternity Teaching hospital, Fatema Al- Zahra Maternity and PediatricHospital, Al- Za’faraniyah General Hospital. Non-probability (convenient sample) used to collect the datafrom (40) participant (nurse-midwife) who work in delivery room that considered as study sample. Theresults of study indicated that nurses– midwives’ knowledge assessment before the implementation of aneducational program for study sample was moderate related to immediate newborn care in delivery room.There were high significant differences in participants’ knowledge at pretest and posttest before and afterthe implementation of education program for study sample. Socio- demographic and professional variablewere no significant effect on their knowledge. The study findings showed that program had been an effectivemethod of increasing the nurses- midwives’ knowledge about immediate newborn care in delivery room.
