Abstract

The variational homotopy perturbation method is developed by combining variational iteration method and homotopy perturbation method. Variational iteration method has an efficient process in solving a wide variety of equations and systems of equations. Meanwhile, homotopy perturbation method yields a very rapid convergence of the solution series in most cases. The developed method, variational homotopy perturbation method, took full advantage of both methods. In this study, we described an application of the variational homotopy perturbation method to solve systems of homogeneous partial differential equations. Here we consider some initial value problems of homogeneous partial differential equation systems with two and three variables. The results show that the obtained solution using this method was in agreement with the solution using the homotopy analysis method and variational iteration method, which prove the validity of the variational homotopy perturbation method when applied to systems of partial differential equations.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of a community empowerment program using the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) method in improving the numeracy skills of second-grade students at SD Negeri 5 Jatimulyo, South Lampung, through Jarimatika. The research employed a descriptive approach following the ABCD stages, which include discover, dream, design, define, and destiny. The subjects of the study were 24 second-grade students aged 7–8 years. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and numeracy tests in the form of pre-tests and post-tests. The results showed a significant improvement in students’ addition skills and calculation speed after the program was implemented. The average pre-test scores increased by 41,38% across count components after participating in the finger-counting activities. In addition, students demonstrated enhanced fine motor coordination, improved learning focus, and greater enthusiasm during lessons. The ABCD approach also succeeded in increasing teacher and parent involvement in the learning process, thereby creating a more collaborative and sustainable learning environment. In conclusion, the ABCD-based community empowerment program proved effective in improving students’ numeracy skills and can serve as a creative and practical alternative learning method in elementary schools.ABSTRAKPengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas program pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui metode Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berhitung siswa kelas 2 SD Negeri 5 Jatimulyo Lampung Selatan melalui kegiatan Jarimatika.
