Those students should be 5-6 years old. The data was collected by using a writing test and observation checklist. The findings showed that there was an improvement in the students’ English ability after the treatment. The students’ result of the posttest was more significantly improved than the students’ result of the pretest by the mean score of 81.18 > 50.12. The difference of both scores was statistically significant based on the t-test value at significant level 0.05 in which the P-value is lower than the significant level (0.000 < 0.05). The mean score of the students’ interest in cycle 2 was 80 and it was categorized as interested classification.

The reduced interest in student learning becomes a problem that occurs during online learning, therefore teachers must create a lesson that can increase students interest and motivation in learning. One interesting learning application creator is is the Articulate Storyline. Articulate Storyline is an application for making learning tools. This research was made using the RnD method. This method includes initial analysis, product design and design, product manufacture to testing. In this study, the results obtained that the validity level was 83.80%, the practicality level was 92.24% and the effectiveness level was 96.47% so that the learning tools produced in this study could attract students' interest in learning in the pandemic era.

Abstract

Unit commitment is the scheduling of disconnected generation of generating units in an electric power system within a certain period, with the aim of meeting load demand. This scheduling is usually determined based on human load demand which always changes over time. This research aims to determine the production costs of thermal plants using the Second Order Gradient method to obtain economical operating costs, to determine fuel costs based on plant loading, and to determine the most economical scheduling using unit commitment. This is to determine the most optimal on/off schedule for generating units to be operated to meet the estimated load to achieve minimum fuel costs in rupiah.

Abstract

The utilization of social media in education has become a significant innovation in enhancing students’ competencies, particularly in English communication skills. This study aims to analyze strategies for leveraging social media as a learning tool to improve students’ English communication skills. Using a qualitative method with a literature review (library research) approach, this study examines various academic sources, including scholarly journals, books, and reports related to the impact of social media on language learning. The analyzed data focuses on popular social media platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok, which hold substantial potential for enhancing students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. The findings reveal that social media can be effectively utilized to create an interactive learning environment that supports English language learning. Strategies such as integrating video-based educational content, conducting online discussions on social media platforms, and developing collaborative online projects help students improve their communication skills in English. Furthermore, social media provides broad access to authentic learning materials, such as videos from native speakers, which enhance students' pronunciation and understanding of natural language contexts. However, challenges such as time management and the potential distractions of social media need to be addressed through structured pedagogical approaches. This study recommends that educators strategically integrate social media into the curriculum and provide clear guidelines for students on how to use social media for learning. With this approach, social media can become an effective tool for improving students' English communication skills in the digital era
