Abstract

The idea of Indonesian democracy is to fight for social justice for all Indonesians. Although the vision of social justice has long been echoed and fought for by the Indonesian people and has even been contained in detail in the state constitution, it has not yet been properly realized. The reality of social justice and welfare has not been realized for all, and economic disparity still exists in Indonesian society. One of the Christian theologians who focused on the framework for social and political reform is Abraham Kuyper. Using the literature research method, this paper investigates Kuyper's ideas and examines his contributions to social reform in the pursuit of social justice in Indonesia. Kuyper's vision is based on God's sovereignty over all aspects of life, which He has also delegated to humans, at least through the state, society, and the church.   Cita-cita demokrasi Indonesia adalah memperjuangkan keadilan sosial bagi seluruh rakyat Indonesia. Meskipun visi tentang keadilan sosial telah lama bergelora dan diperjuangkan oleh bangsa Indonesia bahkan telah termuat secara rinci dalam konstitusi negara namun belum terwujud dengan baik. Realita keadilan dan kesejahteraan sosial belum terwujud bagi semua, dan kesenjangan ekonomi masih terjadi dalam masyarakat Indonesia. Salah satu teolog Kristen yang berfokus pada kerangka berpikir bagi pembaruan di bidang sosial dan politik adalah Abraham Kuyper. Dengan menggunakan metode riset literatur, tulisan ini mengkaji pemikiran Kuyper dan melihat sumbangsihnya bagi pembaharuan sosial dalam mewujudkan keadilan sosial di Indonesia. Visi Kuyper berpusat pada kedaulatan Allah atas semua aspek kehidupan yang juga mendelegasikan otoritas-Nya kepada manusia, setidaknya melalui negara, masyarakat, dan gereja.

Abstract

Yunus merupakan seorang nabi yang mencoba lari dari panggilan Alllah saat implikasi panggilan tersebut tidak menyenangkan hatinya. Di tengah pelarian akan panggilan pelayanan bagi Niniwe, anugerah dan kedaulatan Allah justru bekerja atas hidup Yunus. Artikel ini akan membahas mengenai anugerah dan kedaulatan Allah dalam kaitannya dengan respons Yunus terhadap panggilan Allah. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kajian pustaka, dengan pendekatan eksposisi naratif terhadap teks Yunus 1:1-17. Melalui eksposisi naratif, penulis membahas dua bagian utama: pelarian yang sia-sia (ayat 1-9) dan pengejaran yang berdampak (ayat 10-17). Artikel ini akan menunjukkan, meskipun Yunus gagal dalam ketaatannya, rencana Allah tidak pernah gagal dan anugerah Allah tetap bekerja bahkan dalam ketidaktaatan manusia. Anugerah dan kedaulatan Allah bahkan tidak terbatas pada bangsa Israel, melainkan juga berlaku bagi bangsa-bangsa lain, termasuk Niniwe. Jonah was a prophet who tried to run away from God’s call when the implications of the call did not please him. In the midst of his flight from the call to serve Nineveh, God’s grace and sovereignty worked in Jonah’s life. This article will discuss God’s grace and sovereignty in relation to Jonah’s response to God’s call. The method used is the literature review method, with a narrative exposition approach to the text of Jonah 1:1-17. Through narrative exposition, the author discusses two main sections: the futile flight (verses 1-9) and the impactful pursuit (verses 10-17). This article will show that, despite Jonah's failure in obedience, God's plan never fails and God's grace continues to work even in the midst of human disobedience. God's grace and sovereignty is not even limited to the nation of Israel, but also applies to other nations, including Nineveh

Abstract

The story of Abram and Sarah is an interesting story to discuss. Chaotic household trips due to the issue of Sarah's infertility became a crucial problem that saddened both of them. In the ancient world, Sarah's barrenness was not only considered a disgrace in the family, but also a serious problem for Abram as a man who would have no heir. Impatience awaits offspring, and Sarah's suggestion for Abram to take Hagar turns out to be a domestic conflict and oppression of Hagar, the servant. But God's grace did not only apply to Abram and Sarah but also to Hagar.

Abstract

This study examines Erastus Sabdono’s concept of corpus delicti from the perspective of John Calvin's theology on the doctrine of Christ’s incarnation. As a comparative dogmatic study using qualitative library research methods, this study finds that the concept of corpus delicti, which underlies and serves as a lens for Sabdono’s theological conclusions regarding the incarnation of Christ, contains deviations from the teachings of Scripture. This study shows that there are several theological distortions in the doctrine of corpus delicti, including the negation of the doctrine of Christ’s incarnation and the distortion of the true message of the Gospel, which implicitly results in a concept of salvation based on morality or legalism. The doctrine of corpus delicti also has the potential to produce an unrealistic concept of Christian perfection given the sinful nature of humans. Studi ini mengkaji konsep corpus delicti dari Erastus Sabdono dalam perspektif teologi John Calvin tentang doktrin inkarnasi Kristus. Sebagai studi komparatif dogmatis dengan metode kualitatif kepustakaan, studi ini menemukan bahwa konsep corpus delicti, yang melatarbelakangi dan menjadi lensa bagi kesimpulan-kesimpulan teologis yang diajarkan Sabdono mengenai inkarnasi Kristus, mengandung penyimpangan dari pengajaran Kitab Suci. Studi ini menunjukkan adanya beberapa distorsi teologis pada doktrin corpus delicti, di antaranya negasi terhadap doktrin inkarnasi Kristus dan distorsi terhadap pesan Injil yang sejati yang secara implisit menghasilkan konsep keselamatan berbasis moral atau legalisme. Doktrin corpus delicti juga berpotensi menghasilkan konsep kesempurnaan Kristen yang tidak realitis dengan natur manusia yang berdosa.
