Abstract

One form of sustainable wildlife utilization with ecological and economic values is game hunting. Due to game hunting’s promising prospects, Perum Perhutani planned to develop their deer captive breeding area (PRJ) into a hunting garden. The objective of this research was to study the prospects of deer captive breeding area of Perum Perhutani BKPH Jonggol, West Java into a hunting garden based on ecological considerations. The research was conducted in 2006. Based on direct observation, interviews with the locals and local officers, and observation of land cover change due to increase in population, it was concluded that Block 9 was the most ideal site for hunting garden due to its varied slopes which was preferred by deers, ideal land coverages such as grassland, shrubs and plantation forest, lack of enclave, abundant grazing area and accessible by the hunters. Based on land topography and land coverage, the most suitable hunting method for Block 9 was stalking. According to the Directorate General of PHPA (1988), the only weapon allowed for game hunting is firearm. Based on calculations and literature reviews, the maximum number of hunters allowed in Block 9 is 108 hunters per year with a hunting season of two months, during July and October. Assuming 100% hunting success with maximum number of hunters allowed, the hunting quota would be 108 deer per year. Further studies are required to determine the number of initial population to be introduced to the hunting area and time to start hunting activities, as well as prospects of PRJ development as hunting garden based on socio-economic considerations.

Abstract

Research is entitled with “The Influence of Promotion System Viewed From Promotion Aspect on Employee Work Achievement (A Study of The Employees at PT. PLN (Persero) of Service and Network Area of Malang)”, and the background is the question of how is the influence of employee promotion on work achievement. Considering this problem, the objective of research is to understand and to explain the significance of the influence of promotion system on work achievement. Type of research is explanatory research, while method of research is quantitative. This research is used to test the proposed hypothesis, which is said that there is significant influence between the independent variables of capability and seniority/experience on the dependent variable of work achievement. Population of research includes 64 employees at PT PLN (Persero) of Malang Service Area and Network. The sample is 39 employees.Result of inferential analysis with multiple linear regression analysis indicates that F-significance is 0.000 < 0.050 (alpha) with coefficient rate of 1.132 for the influence of capability (X1) on work achievement (Y), and with coefficient rate of 1.630 for the influence of seniority/experience (X2) on work achievement (Y). It is also shown that R-Square is 0.897 for any influences on work achievement (Y). Based on these numbers, it is then concluded that the variables of capability and seniority/experience have significant influence on work achievement of employee, either directly or indirectly. Keywords: system promotion, capability, seniority/experience, work achievementAbstrak Penelitian dengan judul “Pengaruh Sistem Promosi Dilihat Dari Aspek Kenaikan Pangkat Terhadap Prestasi Kerja Karyawan (Studi Pada Karyawan PT. PLN (Persero) Area Palayanan dan Jaringan Malang)” ini dilatarbelakangi oleh bagaimana pengaruh promosi karyawan sehingga mendapatkan kenaikan pangkat terhadap prestasi kerja. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, maka penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menjelaskan signifikansi pengaruh Sistem Promosi terhadap Prestasi Kerja.Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah explanatory research serta metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitarif.Penelitian tersebut digunakan untuk menguji hipotesis yang telah diajukan yaitu terdapat pengaruh signifikan antara variabel bebas kecakapan dan senioritas/pengalaman terhadap prestasi kerja sebagai variabel terikat. Populasi dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 64 karyawan PT. PLN (Persero) Area Pelayanan dan Jaringan Malang dan jumlah sampel sebanyak 39 karyawan.Berdasarkan hasil analisis inferensial dengan menggunakan analisis regresi linear berganda yang menunjukkan signifikansi F yaitu 0,000 < 0,050 (alpha) didapatkan nilai koefisien 1,132 untuk kecakapan (X1) terhadap prestasi kerja (Y) dan nilai koefisien 1,630 untuk senioritas/pengalaman (X2) terhadap prestasi kerja (Y). Demikian pula didapatkan nilai R Square yaitu sebesar 0,897 terhadap Prestasi Kerja (Y).Hal ini menunukkan bahwa variabel kecakapan dan senioritas/pengalaman memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap Prestasi Kerja karyawan baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung.
