Abstract

Although the adoption of the QRIS payment system continues to increase, technical challenges, such as limited internet connectivity and low levels of long-term consumer loyalty orientation, remain major challenges. In practice, the use of this payment method is highly dependent on the level of ease, convenience, and added value perceived directly by consumers. This study aims to explore the factors that enhance consumers’ behavioural intention to use the QRIS payment system in the MSME sector. The study also defines its geographical scope as North Bekasi. Data were collected through questionnaires from 175 respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The data analysis was conducted using SPSS 21. The results of the first hypothesis indicate that perceived convenience has a significant effect on increasing behavioural intention (t-value 5.759 > t-table 1.653). Furthermore, the results of the second hypothesis demonstrate that facilitating conditions have a significant effect on increasing consumers’ behavioural intention (t-value 4.474 > t-table 1.653). The first practical implication focuses on creating a more convenient transaction experience by simplifying the transaction process. The second practical implication focuses on establishing readiness standards for MSME merchants. Furthermore, the practical implication for Bank Indonesia as the regulatory authority is to facilitate the distribution of devices, such as Electronic Data Capture (EDC) machines, to MSME merchants. This study has several limitations that should be considered, particularly the need to increase the sample size and expand the geographical scope of the study.
