Abstract

The research aims to determine and describe the existence of a matematics teacher in the novel Guru Aini, socio-cultural background and educational values contained in the novel. The research is a descriptive research method qualitative content analysis. The research novel Guru Aini is examined with the approach of sociology literature. Validation is used triangulation theory with stages of reading, records, and analysis of the document. The result of this research incate that the existence of a mathematics teacher most feared by students. This is because mathematics is considered a difficult subject to understand so that many students who dislike mathematics. Then the socio-cultural background in Guru Aini’s novel includes customs and beliefs such as the habit of sprinkling sand into the air while avoiding danger, the language used in Indonesian wit a combination of Sumatera language, the religion that many Islamic figures adhere to, the work that is being carried out namely teachers and others, and the character’s last education is D-3 and high school. Finnaly, the educational value contained in Guru Aini’s novel includes the value of social education which is depicted from interaction of the character with community, the value of moral education which is depicted from attitudes and behavior of the characters, the value of religious education which is depicted from the teachings of Islam in the novel and the educational value of strunggle from character efforts in achieving his dreams. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui, mendeskripsikan, dan menganalisis upaya guru dalam membentuk kemandirian siswa SMK Yanuris Tonjong. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode penelitian berupa desktiptif kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian studi kasus. Data penelitian ini diperoleh dengan cara melakukan wawancara dan observasi untuk memperoleh data terkait dengan upaya yang dilakukan guru SMK Yanuris Tonjong dalam membentuk kemandirian siswa. Hasil penelitian ini ditemukan beberapa upaya guru untuk menumbuhkan kemandirian siswa yang meliputi keterampilan menggunakan beberapa strategi pembelajaran, menciptakan suasana belajar, mengintegrasikan pembelajaran kemandirian kepada siswa baik di dalam maupun diluar kelas, dan memberikan contoh konkret. Beberapa langkah yang dapat ditempuh untuk menumbuhkan kemandirian siswa, yaitu memberi kepercayaan, memberi kebiasaan, melakukan komunikasi, dan menanamkan sikap disiplin kepada siswa. Dalam upaya menumbuhkan kemandirian siswa juga dapat dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor, yaitu lingkungan, pola asuh, pendidikan, interaksi sosial, dan intelegensi dan kecerdasan.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the hegemony of power in the novel Puspabangsa by Karim Nas. This type of research is a qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques were carried out by reading and note-taking techniques. Data analysis techniques in this study using data analysis techniques according to Miles and Huberman which include, data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that the hegemony of power contained in the Puspabangsa novel is divided into the areas of civil society and political society, with the hegemony of political society being the most common. Hegemony in civil society is carried out in citizen networks, Bandar Suci (temples), and schools, while hegemony of power in the area of ​ political society is carried out by the police, committees, high- ranking groups, Panditautama, and the council of consuls. Hegemony in the area of ​ civil society shows that the hegemony of power in the Puspabangsa novel is obtained from the results of consensus or agreement. Then, in political society, it shows that hegemonic actors actually use power a lot.
