Abstract

Locality is the closest entity toward the society. Moreover in Indonesia,this problem should be located as the stepping stone to view howthe people live, their need, and the reason why do they live in such way.This existence relates each other forming a civil society. This article discussesthe relationship between religion and society as an important factorwhich influences much on the Islamic scholars’ position and all theiractivities in the society. In traditional Javanese society, the Islamic scholarsare more positioned as having a strategic social function in a society.

Abstract

Kiai as a social actor, who closely related to religion, has double entities, as a kiai himself and as a Muslim. The first concept is usually apllied in netral discussion on viewing a scholar and the activity of kiai for his followers, how he do preach (dakwah), methods, and other discussions that relate to the influenced power of kiai in his society. The second study is how kiai preaching, the way and methods and other studies like how is kiai power toward the society. The next study is about the kiai’s preach, methods and ways related to how the existence of kiai is build. The capital of kiai figure, finally can be seen as a consequence from good Muslim, and people in the society tend to acquire it.

Abstract

Masih membekas dalam ingatan kita mengenai insiden bom beberapa saat lalu. Bom di Hotel J. W. Marriot dan Ritz Carlton pada tanggal 17 Juli 2009 itu memang benar-benar tidak diduga sebelumnya oleh berbagai pihak. Nyatanya, semua terjadi begitu cepat, dan pagi itu belasan korban jatuh. Segera setelahnya, televisi seakan menjadi mata dari masyarakat itu sendiri. Media begitu cermat mengawasi (red. Meliput) seputar lokasi bom, dan sebagai “selingannya” disertai pula dengan analisis-analisis beberapa ahli yang dinilai cukup berhubungan dengan bom beserta efeknya. Hal ini tentu erat kaitannya dengan ketakutan dan kekhawatiran seputar insiden (yang kesekian kalinya itu), dengan kemungkinan efek domino yang akan terjadi pasca bom. Akan tetapi, yang menjadi menarik  adalah adanya beberapa fakta fakta dan analisis “sisipan” di antara banyaknya berita lain yang mengulas mengenai tren masyarakat pasca bom. Disebutkan bahwa kegiatan masyarakat pasca bom relatif stabil; dalam artian aktivitas Jakarta dan sekitarnya tetap ramai, mall tetap dikunjungi pelanggannya, dan tempat wisata juga masih banyak didatangi pengunjung.

Abstract

The world has experienced many developments of each economic model. The interesting thing is that, the world wide economic development tend to be a linear development. If we seeon the past, e.g. several centuries ago, the economy in the world is all on the pure form of trading. Every area, with its own communities, has different natural resources and their own made-craft. Because of the difference in the community and natural resources each area has, it results on the commodity differentiation. It can not be denied that as the time goes by, human's needs will also develop not only in the sense of housing, clothes, and food needs but it is beyond those needs. The needs for other things and the eminence of each area of its natural resources are the factors which are finally emerging the need of exchange by inter-individuals on each area and to other areas. This is what we called as trading, in advance. By the existence of this kind of trading and the certainty of place and system, these result on the existence of what we call now as market. In the modernity context, what is explained as market here is a traditional market. The question is the existence of traditional market still relevant in the daily economic model, in which nowadays we are not in the peak time of traditional market anymore? Trading model which has capital source and orientation is being the focus of today's economy.
